It works as a fox and heron repellent
EXCELLENT - Two foxes decided our lawn was their toilette. After setting this up, they've taken the hint. I'd send back the pooper scooper I bought a couple of months ago, but I doubt I'll get away with that :o) Our home's water pressure isn't brilliant, but this fires water up to around 20' and makes a rattling noise. It's pointed at a bridge over our pond - so the heron hasn't visited either. Two foxes and a bird with one squirt. Brilliant!

Brilliant! Works, but with one big problem, fixed in this review.
UPDATED INFO. I am still so impressed with this. Once I solved the high water jet issue (see below) It has entirely driven my neighbour's cats away from the bird table - if fact, they hardly ever venture into my garden wow. Using the modification described below I set to spray in a low level arc around the base of the bird table, and the nearby flower beds. It was a real joy to see one of the cats creeping up to the bird table, then running away when it was sprayed. They seldom even come into the garden now. It is occasionally set off by wood pigeons, if they get too close to the sensor, but isn't affected by the small birds. Anyway, what's good and what's bad? The build quality and functionality is excellent, and very good value. The instructions are what you would expect from China! Not that you really need them, except that it would help to explain that the red tabs you have to pull apart to set the sweep are actually two, separate tabs placed one above the other, and need to be separated and and pulled apart individually. The one huge problem (for me anyway) was that the jet of water is pointed so high up that it was spraying the top of the fence! If you tilt the whole unit forward, to bring the jet nearer to the ground, the PIR sensor is pointing at the lawn. If you lower the water pressure to reduce the height of the jet it isn't as effective, and at anything much less than 50% tap opening it won't function at all anyway. My solution to this (see photo) was to fit a Gardena swivel elbow tap connector between the spray head and the base unit with the PIR. This also requires a second adapter to connect to the spray unit. This is the "female half" of the Gardena 36943 connector set (also available much cheaper as a separate item). This modification allows the spray head to be adjusted downwards, delivering a satisfying, full force water jet at exactly the level of the flower beds the cats frequent! The only other issue is that like all PIR devices you may have to lower the sensitivity or turn it off in windy weather. Sometime I might make a firmer, tripod base for it, to replace the rather wobbly spike. I can strongly recommend this device.

mixed feelings yes it is good and does work but became faulty and could not exchange
our garden was being used by 20 cats to pooh in and we dont even own one.... i wanted something that would not do them any harm but put them off doing their business in our garden and within a week my garden smells sweet of flowers than what they use to leave for me to clear up ....a year later ... it did the job brilliant but stopped working under a year old which is a shame contacted pestbuy who denies its anything to do with them but amazon so be aware that if it does stop working they dont live up to their quote' if it does not work your money back' im afraid this is not the case I only wanted it replaced as it was faulty

Rubbish, breaks easily and unreliable
Based on the reviews thought this would work well enough. But it took over 2.5 hours to set up what should have taken no more than 15 minutes. There are multiple screw connection joints in the base when there should only be one. For whatever reason I could not get mine to stop leaking until I used a pipe sealant. Even then the connection to a brand new hose leaked a little. Then the adjustment for spray distance just didn't work. The maximum distance I found through trial and error was actuslly midway between the marked Min and Max settings After 2 months of occasional use the sensor stopped working consistently. I probably spent more time fiddling with this nonsense then it ever actually worked

Works reasonably well. Good squirting range.
Works reasonably well. Very minor leaks fixed with a bit of tightening and adjustment of the spray direction. Doesn’t always trigger but that might be the battery running down.

Wished I'd had got one a lot sooner
After trying numerous methods in stopping the local cat from pooing on my lawn over the last several months this is the only thing I found that really works, putting down lemon peel only kept it away for a few days then it would be back again to leave it's usual trade mark, it has now been 6 days since initial setup and the result not a single cat poo found, up to now I'm really delighted with this and hope it continues to perform well so will just have to wait and see, I can't understand some of the previous comments from other people concerned about being on a water meter, I'm on a water meter also but the only place you are really likely to get a leak from is where the hose adapter plugs into the inlet on the unit itself, just wrap a bit of PTFE tape around it, if you do happen to get a leak elsewhere on the unit it will only be from the water that is stored inside the unit do don't worry, just set it up and leave it to do it's job, you won't be disappointed.

Not very sturdy
Works really well easy to set up just make sure you have it on it’s own water supply the only problem which is a big one is the stem that you put in the ground is very thin and on the 4th time of using it, it snapped and the ground wasn’t even hard as it had been raining. Can’t even get hold of the suppler to see if we can get a replacement for it. Also tried glueing it which didn’t work either.
