2XU UA1987b Compression Calf Guards (Black/Black, S)

Product FEELS and LOOKS good on you. The problem is... after first use the, the "X" silver linings came off. I don't know if I was just unlucky and got this particular flawed product. But for the price I was expecting to get the highest quality one.

For nearly $50 I was very surprised to see the lack of construction and subsistence to this product. It really appears to be nothing more than a nylon sock with the foot cut off. I've seen more complex compression socks for $12 at the local athletic store. Nevertheless, I wore it with consistency while fighting Achilles tendonitis and it did seem to help. I also wore them in a 1/2 marathon and had no issues with calf cramps - though I can't say if it was due to the flimsy sleeve or warming up and stretching.I feel like a real sucker.

I just started running and training for some competitions here on Guam. I purchased these after some reviews and reading about what compression does for your muscles. I have tried running/biking/trekiing with and without these and I have to admit the technology is great, the amount of soreness and recovery time is greatly reduced. The sizing is perfect. I love them so much I am getting some more pairs and I ordered their compression tri-shorts I can't wait to try those!

Good compression on the sleeves - definitely aid in recovery and performance, but there is NO protection for your shins. If you 're looking for something with some padding for lifting or box jumps these are not what you want.

2XU compression sleeves are awesome. Did a half marathon and my calf muscles still felt fresh. Had previously purchased another brand name and they fell apart in less than a week. 2XU sleeves are very well constructed, made to last. A suggestion, wash in washing machine but do not dry in dryer as the lettering will come off. They dry very quickly when hung up. I bought them for running but now also use them for hockey. Definitely a good buy.
