Better Mouse Trap
The inventor of this mouse trap must be located in the middle of a major roundabout for, "If You make a better mouse trap then the world will beat a path to your door." The mice that I am dealing with, have actually learned to eat the bait from the traditional wooden mouse trap without getting caught. They can't steal the bait from this one. Plus it's much handier to load and to dispose of carcasses. If you can't have a cat, then this is the ticket.

Works great!
Several days ago we found a hole in a bag of flour in our basement. A mouse had climbed up onto the old kitchen table we keep surplus food on and chewed though both the paper flour bag and a plastic bag over it. I ordered these traps and they arrived yesterday. I set one up last night near the food table and have caught 3 mice in the last 24 hours! These traps are also easier to use than old-fashioned wooden mouse traps. You only need to squeeze the one side of the trap to set it and squeeze it again to dispose of the dead mouse. A Few Tips: 1) Bait with peanut butter, mini marshmallows, or beef jerky. (I used peanut butter) Mice eat seeds and nuts in the wild not cheese. 2) Place trap against the wall. Mice don't walk through the middle of rooms. They scurry around the walls. 3) Place multiple traps at the same time in different parts of the room.

Large and Powerful
When the traps came, they were much larger than I expected. They seemed to be rat traps. I was concerned that maybe it took more pressure to trip the spring than a tiny mouse could bear. I also surmised that it wouldn't catch the mouse on the neck but in the middle of the body, in which case the mouse would not die quickly and even have the ability to walk some distance from the site of the trap. As it turned out, I was right that trap snapped on the abdomen of the mouse, however, the spring is so powerful that it practically crushed the mouse in half, killing it instantly. Be careful with this trap, it could break fingers. update 4-8 This has caught a few more mice since the original review. No question this is a very sturdy mouse trap, and I expect it to last a long time.

Great mouse traps that are reusable
We had a tiny mouse problem when the weather changed and bought these. These traps are very effective and we recommend using peanut butter. Don't recommend it if you have kids as these traps are very sensitive and will snap at the slightest touch sometimes.

KEEP AWAY FROM KIDS
These work great! If you want to lose a finger. They are extremely strong and will clasp at even the smallest vibration. A worry for kids!

Better than a Barn Cat!
We have field mice - and this made ghosts of them all. Average catch was 3 per night for the first few nights and now, we don't have mice any more. Peanut butter and salami was the best bait and even the dogs didn't get into these after a quick loud snap in the face - these are LOUD when they go off at midnight while you are sleeping and will wake you up when they catch a mouse. Easy to clear and refill too. works where electronic, glue and peppermint deterrents failed.
