Does anyone have any suggestions of what to do with the dusty, ground food meal at the bottom of the bag? There is a lot of it and I hate to waste it

Actually, I run each serving (3 bricks/nuggets) through my mini-food processor in order to break them down. It had been messy when I tried breaking them down in the bowl with a spoon. I take the time to process the whole bag 3 bricks at a time ahead of time. I put each serving in a small zip-lock bag so that it's ready to put in the food bowl and add water to when I want it. Any remaining clods of food can be crushed with my fingers while it's in the bag, making it easier to mix with the water. I got this to feed a 20 lbs cat who had allergies that was making him lick areas bald and go into seizures, during which he peed everything. The vets gave him steroid shots which controlled the itching for only a few weeks, and I was told the meds would lead to worse problems over time. He was too fat to clean himself as well. The nuggets help me control the portions. My cat slowly lost 5 lbs, no longer has that itchiness or those seizures. His fur is soft and glossy now.

31 bucks for ONE bag?

Yeah, crazy eh? But here's the deal, my youngest cat has a weird stomach. We've gone through all the tests (healthy 2 year old cat now) but after he was about 8 months old he started to have diarrhea. He's a Maine Coon mix cat (longer fur with fluffy pants) and let me say how hard it is to butt bathe my boy. We found that feeding him 1 brick of the freeze dried raw Turkey from Primal rehydrated along with a generous scoop of Instinct turkey dry makes him perfectly regular. The freeze dried raw alone was too rich for him. This is what we do for love, ouch.

What is the shelf life? I need to stock an emergency preparedness kit.

Is this really $27.28 for less than one pound of food ?

It's actually 3 pounds of food once water is added. If you look at the front of the bag, it shows that the 14 ounce bag of food makes 3 pounds of food when the correct amount of water is added during feeding.
