I can't wait to read them all. It held my interest from the very beginning. I will recommend this book to all advid reading friends, the first one being my husband. What a joy to find another outstanding author. Review: I own all 12 of these Kindle AND Audible books. Read my review!!! - I can not believe how much I hesitated in getting these books. Especially the Audiobooks, because a woman was narrating it, and I've always had Audiobooks where men had been the narrators. I currently own over 300 Kindle books, and over 275 Audiobooks. I have discovered that Karin Slaughter is an excellent author able to build a story And create diversified characters that have kept me wanting more and more. I also am extremely pleased with Kathleen Early as the narrator. She is fully capable of using various voices in such a way as to let the listener know who is speaking. Her gift of language is uncanny. She knows exactly when to insert a brief pause or imitate sounds that bring the listener right into the story. I have enjoyed these Will Trent books so much, that I have gone back and added several of Karin's previous books to my inventory. Thanks to these two, I've enjoyed multiple hours of wonderful stories.

As always, a great read.....
Will Trent fans rejoice! He and Sara Linton are back! Please note that this storyline deals with tragedy & rape (in case you are sensitive to that, you might want to pass on this one). Without giving up the ending, a lot of Sara's past is explained. It's a very good story but it did take quite a while for me to really get into it & is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. If you are a Will Trent fan, After That Night is still a great read! Happy reading!

I love this series as well as the Grant County one.
I hate to know that the series is ending. Love the banter with Will, Faith. The make good partners. I could go on but I will be tell the story. I recommend this series.

horrifically beautiful
I’ve been waiting for this book to come out since I finished the re-reads of the previous books. I was denied ARCs of the book, but it really just meant I had to wait a bit longer until I could immerse myself into Will’s world. Of course I adore more scenes of Sara and Will together, especially of Sara with her perfect engagement ring, and the teasing and banter between them. I also loved the more domestic side of Faith. I literally laughed out loud multiple times at her. I’m with her, I know my neighbors by their dogs- luckily I don’t have Hello Kitty tape in the junk drawer, but I do have a closet of construction paper and I would probably scream at my son if he chose to be in the force as well. This book had a tough storyline. Not that serial killers are necessarily easy, but Slaughter does a great job emphasizing that rape is rarely cut and dry and sadly way too hard to convict. And yet, it’s horrific to imagine.

Will and Faith Secretly Investigate a Case
Will and Faith are both supposed to be sidelined because Will just came out from undercover and Faith still has a raging case of PTSD from their last case, when Sara Linton fails in court with a rape case she has testified on. Will and Faith see new cases that may connect to the case Sara testified on, but rape cases are so difficult for Sara Will hates to ask for her help. This case brings Will back into contact with the Aunt that hid him as a newborn until Amanda found him, as he is forced to ask her for a favor. Sara is forced to deal with all the people who were around her when she was raped and come faced to face with another ex. which doesn’t thrill Will. Still, there seems to be girls being raped and Sara wants to help keep it from happening to other young women. This story had the best and fastest flow of any of the Karin Slaughter stories I have read, and I say with gratitude that there was very little of the usual graphic nature of her other works. This book was perfect.

Great as always with one caveat
I always enjoy Karin Slaughter books despite the triggering content. This one has it all - rape, stalking, sadism, etc. Her Will Trent series is my favorite. I love Will and Sara’s relationship. Amanda is hilarious to me. And Faith is relatable. Feels like a return to the old gang. This book is genuinely scary in parts and accurately describes the terror of stalking and sexual assault. Some of the discussions of the aftermath of rape by survivors are extremely on point. I have heard and had nearly identical conversations as a trauma therapist. One thing I like about Slaughter’s books is her female characters are not always nice people or “good” victims. There are a lot of characters in this book - almost too many when you take into account the victims and all the suspects. It got confusing at times. Overall this is another good book and I would recommend if you are a fan of mystery thrillers. SPOILER ALERT!!!! The twist at the end was predictable to me. And I didn’t love that she tried to have it both ways. Victims of abuse don’t have to be angels and they have a variety of responses to abuse including PTSD, depression, substance abuse and lashing out at others. But in my clinical experience it is pretty rare for a genuine sadist to be both a victim of abuse and participating in the abuse of others so willingly. I wish the personalities of certain characters would have been a bit more consistent. Still enjoyed though and would recommend.

This book is exactly what I've come to expect from Karin Slaughter. Fast paced, great characters who jump right into my head to make themselves seen and heard, intricate and interesting plot. Each book in this series seems even better than the last, if only because we get to follow the lives of the main characters. The whole book was a compelling read, but the last third or so of the book was nearly impossible to put down.

Very interesting book — plot was well worked out. To know there are criminal ppl like the depraved characters portrayed in the book is incredibly scary. The number of sexual assault victims and the organisation involved in the ring outlined in this story almost reaches the level of incredulity. But on another level, we know such depravity exists. We also know there are dedicated men and women in police agencies trying to bring justice to their victims. They pay a heavy price being exposed to such depravity continually. I don’t think I’ll forget this novel. I’m not a better I formed person for reading it. I wished I hadn’t read it.

As always a good read from Karin Slaughter. Part of the Will Trent series. Writing a bit small, but still worth it.
