BAKING Pin, NOT a FRENCH Pin
Overall, a decent product if what you need is a basic dowel with rings for dough thickness consistency.Take note that this is a "BAKER'S"/"BAKING" pin and not a "FRENCH" rolling pin (straight vs. tapered ends, see the first image in this review). For my purposes, that difference on this product is not an issue - as I'm not yet making fancy pastries or other fine confections - but buyers should beware the Seller's disregard for accuracy in their (mis)titling of this product listing for "most SEO tags crammed in" rather than consumer-considerate specificity for what this item actually is. If you specifically need an actual French rolling pin, this item is NOT it, and I encourage you to continue your product search. That aside, it's nice sturdy wood, and I can see it lasting for many years with proper use and care. In my second image, you can see the difference in shades between plain unfinished wood (kebab stick, on top), the unfinished hardwood of this product as received (toward the left end), and the product's appearance after two coats of Raw Linseed Oil (to properly seal and protect unfinished wooden items for food use).In my third and fourth images, you can see the silicone rings that make this a good purchase if you have difficulty (as I do) of rolling doughs to a consistent thickness. The sizing imprint is on the face of each ring rather than on the round (so your dough surface remains unmarred), and the imprint is raised rather than embossed. In the fourth image, I've dusted the rings with tapioca starch so you can better see the measurement for each ring (1/16", 2/16" aka 1/8", and 3/16"). The sizing for the smallest ring (1/16") is too hard to see with or without the starch, however, as the edge is too tiny and the coloring of this ring too pale to make the sizing visible. As I progress on my baking journey and level up my skills, I will, of course, upgrade my tools. This piece is adequate for beginners like me, though, and it will prove especially useful when I need to roll-out and flatten non-food items like modeling clays or other craft materials.

IT'S A DOWEL...
...if you think about it. A rolling pin is a dowel. Take that for wha it's worth. For the price, this is an OK rolling pin. I've used it a couple of times with just the green band. It doesn't stay on well without the pink and/or yellow holding it in place. So, I took it off and just used the wood stick.Like most consumers, I buy products built around insightful reviews and also like consumers marketing terms often influence me. FRENCH rolling pin was my ballyhoo, don't let it be yours. Its a dowel with rubber rings attached. I like the concept...if it worked better. Each ring does give a different height to the dowel against your dough. I used it for a pastry so wanted a thin dough. It worked well. Later, I used it and wanted a thicker dough, that's when I put the green band around the dowel and neither would stay on during the rolling-the-dough process. Adding another ring would affect the depth of your dough. I opted for thinner and removed the green band.I don't not recommend this product. Just advise that you know what you are buying. No problems with the seller. The product is exactly as described and it shipped promptly. The price is good for the marketing. But you could just as well buy several sized wooden dowels from $0.29 to around $3.50 and get the same result.

Useless
It came in a bag and it was covered in mold. Didn’t open the bag in fear for my health. It’s just a skinny dowel and some I’ll-fitting rubber bands. It’s pretty much useless.I wish Amazon would stop selling garbage. Their reputation takes a hit every time I get junk like this.

Nice, small French rolling pin
Really nice, perfect size for small kitchens. Love the rings to help with you/cookie thickness. I prefer the French rolling pin to the larger type, it's just easier for me to control and work the dough. This pin suits my needs perfectly.

Cheap, improvised
This is common 1 inch poplarwood dowel with 6 rubber bands. Waste of money - didn’t want to clog the post by returning it.

Very thin rolling pin
Very thin rolling pin, but it works great. My dough stuck alot at first, but I'm sure after it had a few more coats of oil it will be perfect. Overall I'm pretty happy.

Three Stars
Pretty thin for the purpose. Silicone bands are loose enough to fall off.

Very skinny rolling pin
This is a very skinny rolling pin. I probably failed to properly calculate the dimensions in my head but it’s literally skinnier than a closet rod. If you need a skinny rolling pin this is a great option.
