I use these shackles with a tow strap and a Land Rover to recover saloon cars and camper vans etc that have parked on wet grass at a show or event and can't get going. They fit on a standard towing eye most of the time and are sufficiently strong to pull a vehicle out. The weight rating on the shackle is for lifting vertically so the horizontal pulling strength is even more.
