Human Anatomy Made Amazingly Easy

Recommended, The Best of Hart's Figure Drawing Trilogy
I purchased three Hart books, which I've noticed are sometimes collectively referred to as his 'figure drawing trilogy'. These books include this one, The Beginner's guide to Drawing People, and his Human Proportions Book. This book, Human Anatomy Made Amazingly Easy, is my favorite of the three. It was also the least expensive, considering that the book can currently be had, used on amazon, for only the shipping cost plus one penny. I paid the amazon retail price for the other books. This book is on the thick side for a Hart release. It is useful and intuitive to use. I would recommend purchasing this book first, of the three in the aforementioned trilogy, and perhaps even as a first anatomy book. I have another recently released anatomy book for artists that is well regarded and, while I enjoy it, it is clear to me that first working through Hart's (this) anatomy book would provide an easier to grasp foundation and be more fun. Consequently, it will be easier to get more out of a more advanced anatomy book when it is time to study it.The illustrations in this book are large and lack excessive line (a good thing). The illustrations have enough detail for a beginner without having too much detail. You get what you require to convey the anatomy to the viewer, which is what you want when you are learning the basics. Hart's shading style is clean, and this book more than his aforementioned others teaches it to you by clear, large examples. Each body part generally gets 1-2 pages. Often, the showcased body part is shown drawn from multiple perspectives. This book is a no brainer for beginning to intermediate figure artists, especially for the price.

Christopher Hart has a great eye for the human physique and how it moves. Enjoyed this book very helpful.
I gave it a 5 star rating, cause it breaks down how to draw all aspects of the human body. From head to toe he goes over all of it. He even breaks down the nose which was very helpful to me since I struggle with the nose. Then when he gets the artist familiar with the complexities of anatomy he goes into poses, which is extra helpful. A good guide for any aspiring artist wishing to learn this sophisticated form the human body. Get this book you won't regret it.

Better late than never
This order took over 5 weeks to arrive in my mailbox, but thankfully it got delivered without much issue or damage. I bought this book to learn simple anatomy of the human body but didn't want to siff through hours and hours of science books or extensive detailed artist books that are meant for professional artist so this one helped to give me a rough idea on body parts.

Perfect for Beginners
My first impression of this book was not good. It looked too simple or dumbed down to be really useful. A second look gave me a different impression. This is a well done and well thought out book for beginners. If you are going to a real 4 year art school, I do not recommend this. But if you are looking to understand basic anatomy and the figure in motion, you'll find easy to understand anatomy lessons as well as a lot of tips and tricks for drawing that are often overlooked. These are the shortcuts that are really essential for amateurs and casual sketchers. A great choice for a beginners core library.

Recommended because its simplicity
Because I am learning to draw manga, and because I struggle with drawing the body, this book is helping me find ways to practice my body drawings. It doesn't go too deep into all the anatomy like in a biology class, which for me is great, because it focuses on the main points we need to understand to draw the human body.I always prefer to find the 20% that has 80% of the benefit in anything I study to save myself sometime, and this books delivers it.

One of dozens
A nice book to browse, but do not think that it is by any means an instructional guide. It is worth a few dollars just to get the talented artist/author thoughts.

Perfect to get a good base for Anatomy
I wanted this more for sketching and to add onto than for refined figures.so this is perfect for what I wanted..it shows the bases in sketching..if you want more refined and finished charactors youl have to add another book with this..but it has a good positive base for starting and giving you the bases for what you need..very happy with it.

One star just because I cannot submit a review without a Star
Useless book with Low quality drawings. You want to learn Anatomy & Drawing, consider buying Victor Perard's book, the Gold standard on the subject.

Hart always delivers with his books, this one is no exception.
If you are looking to further your skills in comics or manga, whether for a hobby or career, I always highly recommend any book from Hart, as his books are so simple and easy to understand whilst maintaining high quality. I have a couple of drawing books, including the Drawing for Dummies and they don't spend enough time explaining everything. Sure, Hart's books don't actually cover the Fine Art of drawing, most of his books focus on Manga, Cartoon, Comic and Graphic Novel style of art (but I'm sure if you really wanted to you could further this to the more finer art). As with all his books, Hart likes to add his 'Visual Muscles and Anatomy', in other words he doesn't give you pages of a science lecture about some muscle or bone that 90% of all artists never need to learn, this does include fine art. He does add a diagram for the skeleton and muscles, with their names, for those of us who appreciate that (personally I don't care for the names of bones or muscles, I just like a diagram and want to know how to draw it). He breaks each piece down and explains it in parts before he shows you how to put it all together, never boring you with science terms or facts. He compares the difference between Male and Female bodies, showing you how to draw them differently. Although this book came out around 17/18years ago, this goes well with other books such as his more recent Figure It Out series. I have learnt more from Hart in one hour of reading his books than I have countless other resources. As someone interested in following into comics, my skills drastically improved after picking up a Hart book. You can't really go wrong.

Anatomy made easy
I have been taking Life Drawing classes this year, so wanted a book that would help me develope my drawing skills. This book is great as it gives just the right info that you need to draw people's anatomy. Some anatomy books just give too much info - I want to do draw people not become a Medical Doctor. Gives original photo of person and plenty of examples of how to go about it. Thoroughly recommend it to develop your skills.

Human Anatomy made amazingly easy
A nicely designed book. Hart has provided content on proportional contruction in many of the facial features and in the body height. Page 22 shows detail of recreating a head of the same character in different positions. Page 51 explains the diffrence in male and female anatomy. As an artist hart has managed to break down the human form into smaller easier structures to give a manakin impression. A number of poses are shown.Overall great artwork but not much good for a beginner artist as the drawings done are not easily recreatable in step by step ideas.
