Seriously heavy duty shears for your shop, I love these.
These are truly industrial grade scissors, but the word "scissors" is not exactly right, they are much more. The blades are thick and heavy, and they go all the way up through the grips. Some people complained that they catch their hand in the part that is showing between the handles. That has never happened to me, so I can only suggest that children should not play with these scissors, They would be dangerous in the hands of a child, or a clumsy person. I do think that Titan could round off those edges that are between the handles to make them less sharp, but I don't fear for my safety while using these. They are very sharp, and very powerful. The handles are comfortable, and allow 3 fingers at the bottom easily. I think that must be intended to be a gauge for how much pressure to use. if you can't do it with three fingers, you probably should use something else. I have rather large hands, and these feel really comfortable to hold. I've cut rubber sheeting, rope, carpet, and plastic parts, You won't find scissors like these in your local store, The closest I could find were Westcott Titanium scissors in a Walmart. They are very nice, but these Titan Elites are king of the crop when it comes to scissors. They measure 3 1/8 of blade, 8 1/8 over all length, 3 1/8 at the widest part of the handles. The thickest part of the blade is 1/8"

Well made, very sharp utility shears. I keep mine in the garage and use them everyday.

The are tuff and can cut anything with ease.
These are large and tuff scissors. I already had one pair but for some reason they have disappeared. I bet if I looked in my husband's tackle box I would find them. So I ordered me another pair and I am going to spray paint them so I will see them from a distant. There is nothing they cannot cut or tackle.

A Tale of Two Scissors...
I got sick of having kitchen scissors that were worthless. I did a bit of research and ordered 2 different pairs simultaneously. The Titan Elite Industrial Grade Heavy Duty Scissor (Amazon ASIN: B0046EBW1C, Item model number: D50004) for $12.89 and the Kitchenaid Classic Shears With Soft Grip. They both were received from Amazon in the same package. I have fairly large hands. I don't eat meat all that often. For my purposes, these would be put to use doing things like cutting thick flower stems, opening other packages, cutting carpet, cardboard, zip ties, wire ties, etc. Initial impressions: The Titan Elite is the heavier duty of the two and - for those who might care - it's precise enough when cutting that it cuts paper and thin plastic without making that "nib" or break at the end of the cut - a totally clean cut. As far as cutting motion, it's a bit "sticky". I would think if you are going to cut meat bones on a regular basis, I would give the Titan the nod for long term durability but you won't see the difference unless you are in a constant heavy use situation. For carpet, I might prefer the Titan over the Kitchen-Aid (below). Side note: The Titan Elites are NOT over packaged, you can get to them easily. VS. The KitchenAid Classic Shears (Amazon ASIN: B0050U240O , Item model number: KC351OHOBA). Fit my large hands better, immediately way more comfortable. No stickiness as far as blade action. Seemed a * bit * more nimble to steer the nose of it. These will probably be my first choice for all but the largest jobs. Also at $8.41 they cost 1/3 less than the Titan Elites. MY ONE MINOR RANT re the Kitchen Aid: They have the most diabolical over packaging (heavy duty, stamp-sealed/fused clear plastic, cardstock and zip ties). Usually I can blow this off but not in this case. I had to use the Titan Elites to open the Kitchen Aid package! ... and even then it was a fight. I wasted 5 minutes on that. Dear Kitchen Aid: Stop over packaging these scissors! You are not building a safe house or the Maginot line! - let people get to your product! RANT OVER. SUMMARY: They are both good and priced fairly. I lean to towards the Kitchen Aid but will keep and use both of them. From looking at them I estimate these to have 5 - 7 year durability for my purposes. That is fine with me. ____________________________________________________________ UPDATE on 12/02/2014: I now know that I totally prefer the Kitchen-Aid scissors to the Titans. The Titan scissors were relegated to a tool wall in my basement (which doesn't see daily action) and I have purchased two more of the Kitchen-Aid - they are that good. I find that the one that I keep by the washer/dryer is precise enough to cut off hanging threads and yet is strong enough to cut thick cardboard.

Industrial Strength Scissors
These are incredibly robust and capable scissors, much more powerful than the light duty ones I am accustomed to. Yet they are still not overly heavy or uncomfortable to use. The handles are "universal" such that you don't have to worry which side your thumb is in, which is convenient. They power through tasks such as cutting open blister-packed products that challenge lesser scissors. Yet they have a very sharp and clean cut that does nicely on thin paper as well. I'm glad I bought these, and may get more. I just hope my wife doesn't discover mine.

Very heavy duty, excellent sturdy scissors
I love these scissors. They are so nice and sharp and they've cut through everything that I've tried to cut with them. They are probably the sturdiest scissors that I own, and I own a lot of scissors. These easily cut through thick fabric, as I show on my video. They'll cut through cardboard, too, but I haven't cut through cardboard yet, because cardboard will dull even the sharpest scissors. I don't use these as my day-to-day scissors. I keep them as backup, for when my regular scissors just won't cut it. I highly recommend everyone to get a pair of these things to keep on hand for tough jobs. They were a little smaller than I thought they'd be, but they've been able to handle all of my cutting jobs. Pros: +Very sharp +Cuts evenly the entire length of the blade +Feels nice in my hand +Extremely sturdy Cons: -Dangerous, in the wrong hands
