The circumstances that keep throwing these 2 closer together just keep tugging at my heart..I loved that the author kept things runing by artfully intertwining the past and present in both characters POV. I believe this was so well excuted, to keep the book pace going while simultaneously delivering a great balance of heavy emotion, angst and spice through the timeline of the story. This 2 were just always meant to be and it was well shown..Cade... was a bit frustrating to me at the beginning like, what is wrong with you dude!? And although I was frustrated it kind of almost made sense for him to act out given the circumstances that had pushed this reunion. But he more than made up for it in swoony moments later. And that dirty mouth didn't disappoint.😋.This was my 1st Kendi Steiner read and absolutely will not be my last!!! I cannot wait for Pippa and Camden, I feel they will be such a fun book with their opposite personalities.

I'm new to reading books by this other. My first book I read was Black ties and white lies which was phenomenal. I love this book just as much. From start to finish it was so beautifully written. I couldn't put it down. It gave me all the feels and I fell in love with Cade just as much as probably everyone else will and has. I love Marigold and Cades story. This book was amazing and I didn't want it to end. I'm looking forward to the next one in the series. I'm so happy this all the decided to write their story. Do yourself a favor and buy this now, especially if you've been looking at it.!

Kat absolutely killed everything about this story. The past and present timeline. The dual POV. It was everything.Cade and Mare are meant for each other. But they’ve got to figure out how to forgive each other for what happened in their past before they can fully let themselves be okay. Watching it happen just makes me swoon. Oh, and I cried multiple times during the story. But it was completely worth it.One thing I weirdly love in books is when the parents know that their child has these feelings for someone and they guide them through it. Cade’s mom was that person for both of them and it just warmed my hearts.

I really like this author..she’s knows how to write a good story that flows nice. This story might not be for everyone because in the beginning it focuses heavily on a loss of a mother. So it might be triggering for someone who lost a parent or someone close to them.The love story itself is very angsty, deep, sweet, and if you like that type of love story then this is for you.

This book has such a profound impact on me, unlike many others. Im still feeling from the emotions and feelings I had throughout. And honestly I don't know how to express them, other than my adoration for Kat and her writing.I DO NOT cry while reading books, like hardly ever. But this one broke me, and made me sob like a small child who just had their favorite toy taken away.Marigold and Caden always had a friendship built in. Pippa being Marigolds best friend and Cade being Pippa's brother. After some serious heartbreak and loss all parties involved learned to depend on each other. I cannot say more than that, because this is a book you need to go into with no expectations. You just need to feel everything the book has to offer.“I’m tired of fighting myself over how much I think about you. And it's only those scenes where you see how they truly feel and how they show it to each other. So we follow them along sorting through the pain and emotions. I wish that some day someone would do the things Cade did for Mare. Still firmly in my small town era with no sign of leaving anytime soon.Cade and Mare. Gosh darn it, this couple was it. There was angst, there was swoon and oh man was there spice 🥵From the sleepovers to the secret rides to the marigolds. 😭😭 I am consumed by this book, still, several days later. This book was everything and more.Cade. My gosh…y’all. THE MOUTH ON THIS MAN. A dirty talking cowboy who wears a backwards hat?! SAY LESS.Cade is Mare’s best friend’s sister. We get to see their relationship unfold through flashbacks and present time. Y’all - I am not one for flashbacks but it absolutely 100% works for this book.Read this book. It made me cry and we all know I have a black heart 😂🖤 ALL THE STARS. And all the tissues for you 🫶🏻
