They are also comparable with older sets and various train cars including electric and Thomas the train cars.

Our child received a hand-me-down Thomas the Train set so we decided to buy him some train tracks to roll them on. These tracks were affordable and fit the standard play train width. I also love that there's not an overwhelming number of pieces and they're easy enough to assemble for a 2 year old.

We bought these as an expansion for my son's track set. It's a different brand, but they fit perfectly. He loves being able to build much larger configurations now.

This was a favorite toy of my siblings and I when we were kids back in the 90s so I was excited to get this for a young creative kid whose parents one request was that I not get something with batteries. This was perfect for that. This toy is great for creative kids who enjoy both building and playing. The design is really simple so as long as your kid is around 5+ and or has an imagination and good hand/eye coordination, they should be able to build it themselves quickly. This particular track set isn't super complicated, so it should stay together during play as well. If you want to keep on gifting expansion sets, this is great for that as well as it is compatible with pretty much any brand. Great toy imo.

Building the track for the train occupied 6 and 7 year old for hours. Then running the train!

The curved tracks and switch tracks are double sided to make it easier to assemble your railroad. So far the wood feels smooth and substantial. The train it came with it little, but the magnets hold well. I would purchase this brand again.
