Not great, but nice enough
This steps away from the mainstream feminine styled perfume bottles. If I were to describe this to someone, they would probably think it was an aftershave bottle for a male petrol head. However, the bottle is not all masculine and the designers have taken a bit of a gamble, but I think it a welcome change. However, I still criticise the amount of plastic that is used for marketing purposes. A good perfume in a simple bottle will sell itself.Of course, the bottle is a moot point if the perfume is not right. The fluid has a slight pink tinge to it when sprayed onto a white material, but not that you would really notice as it atomises into an even misting. I can’t quite place what the scent is, but something floral with a little sweet citrus. I wasn’t completely taken with it. It is something I will wear, but it isn’t my first choice and this is being used for daily work and not for a special occasion or endulgence.Being an EDP I was expecting it to last for a long time, but after a few hours hours it could only be detected if someone was within your personal space. The current price is £35 for 100ml, which I think is a little over-priced for what it is and I would probably think it more in the £20 range, but nice enough.

Gran Turismo GT One Eau de Parfum – Unusual Packaging for Women but Surprisingly Lovely Fragrance
This eau de parfum by Paul Vess for women arrived in a branded box sealed in a bubble wrap bag, a plastic bag and a cellophane layer – it’s a bit plastic heavy! The perfume is held within a glass bottle which is surrounded by a plastic white tyre with a sparkly rose gold alloy detail and you can stand the bottle upright. I didn’t particularly love the plasticky nature of the design and I thought it was an unusual choice for a women’s perfume, but I understand that there are three male versions so I suppose this goes with the overall design of the brand. The bottle contains 100ml of perfume which smells sweet and floral with an undertone of woodiness – I found surprisingly enjoyable to wear. The top notes are apple, raspberries and rose berries, heart notes of rose, white wood, orange blossom and jasmine with base items of musk, amber and vanilla. I was very drawn to order this perfume as I prefer floral and fruity combinations in perfume and this a lovely light version which is ideal for the summer months and isn’t heavy on the nose. The scent does somewhat wear off for the wearer after about 3 hours but when I asked my partner to see if he could still smell it, he confirmed that he could (although he did have to be close). The perfume doesn’t have a punchy fragrance and instead is more obvious when up close even when initially sprayed, however I prefer this lightness during the warmer months so this is ideal. It does stay on your clothes for quite a while afterwards too.Although the perfume bottle is not one that I am particularly keen to have out on display I do actually like the fragrance itself and it has good staying power for the price point. The scent is both feminine and elegant. The perfume is created and manufactured in France and currently priced at £39.99 at the time of reviewing, this is very reasonable for price point and I am pleasantly surprised at how much a like it. It may require topping up through the day but I would still definitely recommend it.

A great chypre - that smells like it costs much more...
Though I tend to prefer vintage perfumes, I'm a great perfume enthusiast and love trying different ones. Gran Turismo GT One from Paul Vess is that rare beast - a perfume from a brand I'm unfamiliar with, packaged in a rather kitsch sports' car wheel, heavily embellished with rose gold that's inside a box featuring a subtle by comparison gold glitter effect.......that actually smells rather stunning. Honestly, this kind of experience is as rare as hen's teeth in blind buying fragrances.I was immediately intrigued. I have a particular love of chypre perfumes - and this is a chypre eau de parfum. So there are fruity top notes, floral and white wood mid-notes and at the base is musk, amber and vanilla. They blend beautifully and, like all good perfumes, GT One changes subtly on dry down and as you wear it.Unlike many contemporary fragrances, the sillage is decent and the scent long lasting. It reminded me of aspects of the discontinued fragrance ranges by Fendi - and even a little of Fendi Donna, the saddest loss of all, which is about as good as it gets.Having established this as a winner for me, I was still left wondering quite why GT One is such a good perfume. In the end, perfume comes down to the nose responsible for it. Made in France, this is a collaboration between Paul Vess Paris and a nose - or perfumier - called Emna Doghri, who has also been the nose behind quite a number of Alexandre-J perfumes. A bottle of Alexandre-J eau de parfum is likely to leave you with not too much change from £300.Gran Turismo GT One is a truly exciting find. The value for an eau de parfum of such obvious quality is incredible. You'll find yourself sniffing your inner wrists constantly - and are likely to get compliments. Only you'll know how modest the outlay was to get a perfume this good.

Lovely scent.
I love perfume, as my dressing table will attest to, but I’m not usually one for ‘buying blind’ and instead I tend to make my purchases after spending hours in Boots sniffing everything twenty times before making my mind up, so was pleasantly surprised when this turned up.It comes in a branded box with the perfume visible which is in the shape of a wheel. I’m not a gamer, but I have heard of Gran Turismo simply due to its popularity, and I have to admit the bottle does look rather cool. The perfume itself has a really nice summery scent, floral and sweet, but with an undertone of amber, which happens to be one of my favourite scents in a perfume and gives a nice depth and warmth.I like it, it’s a lovely light feminine scent and will be nice as a daily wear.
