Use it for improv singing - works great
I am an improvisational vocalist and need an amp with a looper. For the last ten years or so I have used the Roland AC-33 for practice and fun. As I live a third of the time somewhere else I wanted another one and after much consideration bought the Yoyo. Yes, it is a guitar amp and I can't use some of the options but what I CAN use I enjoy. The looper is easy and apparently one can erase the last overdub (have not found out how - but will keep trying ;-) which the Roland can not do.I beatbox myself but it is nice to have a small rhythm section available. When taping the background loops I have the gain on 5 and move it to 10 when I work on the solo - so the solo is having a little more volume to shine because I am missing a second volume controll. The Roland AC-33 has two inputs: One for guitar, the other for mike and so I have two volume controlls which I am missing here - but using the gain I made it work. PS: Would be great if Yoyo would add a mike option and second volume control.I read in a previous review that before turning the Yoyo on, volume and gain should be way down. That helps - because I was in the beginning surprised about the volume ability. It seemed rather weak. It changes a bit when volume and gain are down before turning it on, but I am still surprised that the volume of the rhythm section is so much stronger. As I am not using the Yoyo for performance it is loud enough for me. I am glad I bought it and will get much use out of it. The price is fab. Design? It does what I should do, but its no design highlight for me ;-)

Great little home amp.
Doesn't pretend to be a modeling amp, but has 9 different voicings. Enough effects for a home amp. Plenty loud, set it low for practice while the wife is home then turn it up and make the dogs howl when she's away. Only has a 5.5" speaker but sounds better than the specs. Couldn't more pleased.

Nice Little Practice Amp
I really like this little amp. I have Joyo's 5W practice amp, which is great for practicing on the road, but wanted something a little louder and powerful for use at home. This is a solid option. There's no way it can keep up with a loud band, though. I like the rechargeability (couple it with a wireless receiver system, and you're in business) and the size. The amp modeling is decent for a solid state, but the effects are pretty bad. I'm picky about my stomp boxes, so I don't use the built-in delay/chorus/etc. The looper is a neat option, but can be annoying to use effectively. The drum machine is also a nice touch, but is pretty limited and doesn't sound that good. Definitely glad I bought it and recommend it for what it is.

Amazing value for the features it has!
It is perfect for what I wanted and the features are great! I love the design and the functionality of the controls. It is very well built and the function of the controls are well thought out. The build quality is very good for the price. I am a product designer and I am not sure there is anything I would change if I started from scratch!

Great Idea, Poor execution
EDIT/Update (6/16/24): Joyo reached out to me with some advice following my older review below. How awesome is that? They told me to make sure that the volume was all the way off when turning on the amp. Apparently, and this is some kind of engineering feature of the amp, if the volume and gain is turned up significantly, the amp only operates at 2.4 watts. Weird, but maybe that's some kind of power saving feature. To fix that, always start your amp with the volume and gain at zero, and then increase to get the full power. Seems to be true. And weird.Regarding the clipping with humbuckers (it's still doing that), they asked me to send a video of that. Not sure I'll do that. Humbuckers are simply delivering too much gain to the inputs (I haven't tried active pickups, but I suspect those would be worse). The solution, again as I outlined below, is to reduce the volume knob of your humbucker on your guitar. Here's the new bottom line: I'm keeping this amp for my son who loves its features and portability. (he doesn't notice its limitations or doesn't care) AND, due to the excellent customer service, I will buy Joyo again.-----------------------------------------Everything about this amp should be great but when it comes down to it, the sound is at best mediocre and on average, It sounds like a cheap amp from the 1980s. The features of this amp are outstanding, and the product people at Joyo should be complemented for knowing what their customers want, it's just that the power section of this amp is just not good. Also there's no headroom at the inputs. So if you have a humbucker pickup, you're going to have to turn the volume down on your guitar to keep it from clipping. Other reviewers have noted this. Single coil pickups seem to be ok. I should also mention that clipping is not a good warm distortion, but the bad kind of distortion. And lastly, and this might be due to the size of the speakers, it's not as loud as I was hoping for from a 15 Watt amp.If I were buying this for me, I would be sending it back. But my son loves its features, so I'm keeping it for him.

Very practical practice amp
Sound is pretty good. Tones are decent, nothing amazing as far as that goes but that's not the point of this amp. It is very practical, battery life is great, drum machine and looper work fine. Use it a Bluetooth speaker and jam along with the music. If you're looking for the best tone, look elsewhere. But if you want an amp you can take anywhere with a ton of features and fun to use this is great.
