Fantastic Labels, Clear Transparent and best of all No Smudges
These are fantastic. They dont smudge at all when used on an Inkjet printer. They are clear so you can put them on almost anything. We used ours on our Wedding Invitation Envelopes, as it looks neater than handwritten.

Not completely transparent, and leave a visible vertical line near the edge of each label
I bought these by mistake - but even though these labels are intended for use with inkjet printers, they worked fine with my laser printer (and they were cheaper than the laser version!) :) They are easy to remove from the backing strip, but this comes at a cost - when applied to the envelope or whatever you're sticking them to, there is a visible vertical thin line (of adhesive I think) on the right-hand side of each label, corresponding to the line of perforations in the backing paper. I tried to make it less visible by applying firm pressure to the label and rubbing it with a cloth, but without much success. This is a shame because it slightly spoils the look of the label - well it did for me, as I was applying it to a dark-coloured envelope (gold). As an experiment I applied a label to a white and a cream coloured envelope, and this faint line was not visible with those envelopes. The other thing to be aware of is that they are not perfectly clear - more like looking through lightly frosted glass.

Excellent - does what it says in the description
Used in conjunction with the Avery template that I downloaded for free, I've found these very easy to use, & very useful if you specifically don't want a white label. A couple of words of warning though - they are 'clear' but have a matt finish, so they might show up depending on the surface you're sticking them to, and you need to be careful what colour font you use, to show up on whatever background you're sticking them on.

Destroyed my printer
I only print one or two labels at a time. Unlike Avery white labels, once printed it is hard to get the individual labels off without some roughing up of the borders. The second time I printed using the sheet of labels from which I had already taken two the sheet got caught in the printer (I assume because the borders were roughed up), the border came up and some of it got caught up within the printer (a canon pixma). It got caught in and stuck in an unreachable part of the primnter which meant I had to scrap the printer. Not happy.

Don't do the design in Word!
Head to the Avery site, look up the product code and you can access their online template. It's so much easier to use than Word. You can easily add a logo and change the layout, font and colour of text. Save your design once you're happy with it and download it as a PDF for printing.
