Remote extended for Virgin V+ box? Try this.
I needed a remote control extender for my Samsung Virgin+ box but not one that would interfere with the Wi-Fi installation (2.5G) and, as I live in a city, one that would not suddenly control the next door neighbour's tele or vice-versa!I had my doubts about the Marmitek but I spoke to the sales people at Keene (they were very helpful) and was reassured that it would work fine. It does. (using a lower frequency - 433MHz.) I have it installed in a three storey brick built house with the receiver on the ground floor and the transmitter two floors above. I have added the Marmitek IR Eye universal IR extender cable Marmitek IR Eye universal IR extender cable to the Marmitek receiver (very easy - just plug it in) so as not to have the problem of finding somewhere to sit the receiver so that it can "see" the front of the V+ box and apart from the usual playing around with the "IR eyes" to find the best spot on the V+ box for it to work, everything was very easy. It really was a case of out of the box, set up and it was running.(The manufacturer claims a 100m. operating distance but does add the condition that this is in "ideal" circumstances - for that I read "no buildings or floors in the way.)As the Marmitek IR Eye universal IR extender cable has two "eyes"Marmitek IR Eye universal IR extender cable, I also tried contolling other boxes I have (with the associated remote controller for each) and have so far found that all the equipment I have, TV, Sat. receiver (I cannot speak for a Sky Rx - but I do not see why it would not work), amp, everything seems to work - including an older version (Scientific Atlanta) Virgin+ box. Also seems to work fine with a "universal remote".The product itself is two small pyramids which look quite stylish and do not take up much room. Usual problem of locating them near a mains socket for the power supplies (supplied with the unit) but the IR extender cable is quite long, so that helps with that problem.BTW: This is not a "Video Sender". It DOES NOT allow you to see the picture on another TV in a different room!

Great little accessory for multi room music!
Needed a way to operate my hifi from another room and thought that these came with a cable that would connect to the flasher port on my amp - they don’t!Anyhow, I have the receiver set up as pictured and the transmitter in another room (with a thick wall in between), and I am now able to operate my hifi from the other room with no issues! Pleasantly surprised and very happy 😀

Just the job!
For whatever reason (interference?) IR signals in my house recently became inoperable; even though the wireless extenders for tv and audio from room-to-room continued working, suddenly no remote control signals from any source could be transmitted/received, so no channel-changing remotely any more. Fortunately, these powerful Marmitek units, though fiddly to get working owing to continued interference on IR, eventually restored full remote-control between upstairs and downstairs tv. Once I saw they worked, I bought another pair for my internet radio, which have worked equally well. This is a valuable workaround and restored the convenience of operating a Freeview box and an internet radio in one room on my monitors downstairs.

Works great with my Air conditioner/Heat Pump
I recently bought a Tado Smart AC to automatically control my Mitsubishi AC. The problem is I would like to control an identical unit in another room at the same time and bought this to save having to buy another Tado unit. Works flawlessly. The Tado sends an IR signal to the AC in one room and the Marmitek relays it through the wall to the other unit. Seems to work fine with my Heat Pump/Air conditioners and saved me money. The description says the transmitter and receiver need AAA batteries but this is not the case as 2 UK power adapters were supplied in the box. Overall very satisfied. Good value.

Receivers don’t work 🙁
I purchased this product, thinking set up is so straightforward & won’t have wires going all around my house to connect 2 tv’s. But reality hit when I received these wireless receivers. It was too good to be true. Despite follow the set up instructions down to the last letter, they don’t work! So disappointed. From my experience, I wouldn’t recommend. To make matters worse, I have a ‘Magic Eye’ to link my sky box to my tv in the kitchen. Now the Sky remote in the kitchen does work since I set up Powermid-infared Pyrimid. Bottom line, they’re a disaster & a total waste of money in my opinion taken from my experience

Brilliant way to control Sky box from another room
Leaving out the technical details, the method I was using to control my Sky Box from another room stopped working. Very inconvenient. After a long search, found this: "Wireless IR Extender - Marmitek Powermid XL". I thought that it sounded perfect, if it worked. It claimed to go through walls, I thought, we'll see. Actually, it was simple to set up and worked straight out of the box. My signal is going through three walls over a distance of 18 metres, If you need to control your Sky box from another room (or any other device controlled by infra-red) Marmitek is the way to go.
