Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth

Great for any Clone Wars fan
Karen Miller absolutely blew it away with this book. I love how it actually covers some of the darker themes of war that the Clone Wars doesn't (at least in the first couple seasons).

read this before siege!!
this book was so addicting! a little slow at first but once it hits the main plot you can’t even put it down. i love the way the author highlights the thoughts of different characters and takes an analytical approach in creating all of the events in the storyline. so interesting to see how the pasts of each character, especially anakin, play into how they respond to their current situations. ending is sorta a cliffhanger but is continued in cw gambit:siege

At-times slow story with excellent character portrayal
I was thoroughly impressed with Karen Miller's depth of characterization in her debut Star Wars novel Wild Space. However, I found the portion of the story featuring Obi-Wan Kenobi and Bail Organa endlessly slogging through space and then across the surface of Zigoola drawn-out and rather tedious. So I was curious to see if Ms. Miller would be able to build upon her strong portrayal of the film characters while reducing the repetitiveness in her follow-up novels, the Clone Wars Gambit duology. For my taste, she succeeded. Although making this story a two-parter does cause things to drag out too long, the pace is brisker and she shines in the multitude of scenes highlighting Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker's relationship and viewpoints. Rarely has the Expanded Universe (or arguably the films themselves) made these two seem like close friends, the "brothers" that Obi-Wan speaks of on the Mustafar lava ridge. Ms. Miller devotes a great deal of space to the emotions, beliefs, insights, and personalities these two developed over the years together, and since they are so central to the entire saga, the focus on the duo is worthwhile.Lok Durd returns from his Clone Wars first season two-parter as the primary adversary. This Durd is considerably more diabolical than what we saw on the cartoon: sure, he PLANNED to wipe out entire species with his doomsday weapon, but we didn't actually see that happen. The Durd of Clone Wars Gambit is a loathsome, malevolent, vile creature, delighting in pain and suffering. He makes a good villain but I did get weary of his scenes about halfway through the story.Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth is a very solid if somewhat overblown set-up for the conclusion in book two. If you are more interested in the action-packed galactic space opera side of Star Wars, these books probably won't be a great pick, but if you're intrigued by a more emotions-centered exploration of two primary Star Wars characters along with some nice sequences from the supporting cast, give this one a try.

Good Story in the Star Wars Universe.
Good story in the Clone Wars era of the Star Wars universe. Love most of the Star Wars novels as they tend to offer a little more insight into the Jedi and Sith ideologies.

Kenobi wants to murder someone.
One reason you must always take reviews lightly, is because we all have our own opinions, our own likes and dislikes. I heard that this book was one of the worst. So I went in cautiously, expecting disappointment. Yet, I actually enjoyed this story.Karen Miller does a really good job expressing the inner emotions of our characters. These Clone Wars books really show us the mental/emotional decline of Anakin Skywalker. We see Anakin act reckless and defiant. He truly is controlled by his emotions and has a hard time with self control. Kenobi is frustrated with his old Padawan, but he knows there isn't much he can really do, Anakin is a Jedi Knight now, and is trekking his own path. The relationship between Palpatine and Anakin is strong, Palpatine continues to lure the boy in, acting as a father figure. Palpatine reveals that he knows of Anakin & Padme's relationship, ensuring that he will keep it a secret. One really good thing that these Clone Wars books reveal, is the building relationship between Palpatine and Anakin.Kenobi contemplates killing someone, which is very out of character! We run through a list of ways that he thinks of killing her, including bursting her heart... in her chest! Karen Miller takes liberty with changing character traits. This is aggravating and obnoxious.I really feel then Anakin has a hatred for Kenobi, the relationship between them really isn’t a brotherhood, but of tolerance. Kenobi is disappointed in his old Padawan, and Anakin is constantly frustrated with his old master.Do I recommend this book? If you're a fan of the Clone Wars, I'd have to say yes!RATING: This book receives a 3/5 stars, or a C+

Awesome
Best one in the series so far. The ending was....shocking to say the least. Only one part of the book I don't agree with, which is rare.

Good book
The book arrived before the estimated date. Bought from TheProductsHub. It arrived in RS, Brazil, and I didn't have to pay any import fees. It just could have been a little better packed as the spine of the book had some small dents. It has a simple cover so it takes some care to maintain it, like all the Del Rey books I have. The pages are a little transparent as you can see in the photo, which doesn't bother me, but I know it bothers some people.I'm satisfied overall.I haven't read it yet, but from the excerpts I've seen, I'm looking forward to the story and how the relationship between Obi-Wan, Anakin and Padmé is portrayed.

Fabulous and Fantastic Star Wars Caper!!
This book is well composed and excellently written. Karen Miller writes with consumate ease and pens a wonderful story. Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are up to their usual exploits as the dedicated Jedi on a daring mission. A brilliant story and I look forward to reading the 2nd and final book of this 2 book series!

Spannende Geschichte
Ich mag die Geschichten von Obi-Wan Kenobi, die er mit seinem ehemaligen Padawan Anakin Skywalker erlebt, bevor dieser der böse Darth Vader wird. Da sieht noch einmal das Gute über die bösen Seperatisten
