After Hours Christmas Jazz (Piano Solo)

Great harmonies,cool jazz for solo pianists at Christmas.

As like all P Wedgwood's other "After Hour Books" this did not disappoint. Beautifully arranged and a joy to play and not too difficult to play.

I found it challenging at my level 4, but managed to play quite a few pieces and hopefully will progress in t he future.

Fantastic selection of pieces, aimed at grade 5-6+

These are lovely pieces but the are quite difficult - I'd say around grade 6 level

I can’t say I like this book though there are some nice ideas in it. I found the rapid transitions from one style to another in the same pieces jarred for me, quite a lot of the chord progressions are fairly banal and some rootless voicing would be better. Also two out of 14 pieces are the composers own so wouldn’t mean a thing to an audience. It’s not a book I’ll use. Having said that I think younger players at say grade v might get quite a lot from it as it’s a fairly humorous introduction to jazz styles such as boogie.

Brilliant pieces with wonderful, although challenging, arrangements.
