This Laptop is Amazing.
I've had this for nearly 4 months now, and it is the best laptop I've owned. I rarely use my gaming pc anymore because this laptop nearly beats it/ equals in performance (albeit, my pc is quite old) and completely surpasses it in convince since it is portable. It is very quick, and the only downside is that the battery does not last too long (I'll say an hour to an hour and a half without charging) and the fans can be quite noisy if you're playing a high graphics game. Though, I do mostly blame my apps running in the background for the battery and fans. One more slight quirk is that you cannot change the light color of the keyboard, but that's just a me thing. Overall, highly recommend!!!

Great gaming laptop!
The Acer Nitro 5 is a fantastic upgrade! After thorough testing, I'm impressed with its blazing speed. Setup was a bit involved, but manageable for those comfortable with computers. Take your time and enjoy this powerful machine! Great functionality, as it's very customizable. The battery life seems excellent, And it was a great value for the money. I love the crystal clear display, great size. And while the laptop is lightweight, It doesn't take away from its durability.

High Quality Speakers Buzz the Laptop Frame But Otherwise a High Quality, Powerful Gaming Laptop
This laptop is an excellent purchase if you are looking for something portable that plays high-end PC games. The performance is really solid in some unexpected titles. It will run Darktide on medium with slight dip in frames at times and keep between 30 to 60 in Total War: Warhammer 3 consistently. It will also run Baldur's Gate 3 and Elden Ring at mostly maxed settings, with some slowdowns here or there. There are two minor issues that prevent the 5th star rating: - Windows 11. The things it changes from W10 are pretty awful. The system doesn't want to be honest and direct with file pathings within your hard drive. Finding the Downloads or Desktop or Documents folder can be tedious for no good reason. It also wants waste your bandwidth by syncing almost every file you have to a cloud. The simple act of renaming a file is now hidden behind a sub-menu and the copy/paste commands have been repositioned into awful icons within the right-click menu. Many things have to be turned off to make the experience better, which will involve an hour of googling and there's some things that are just hopeless and can't be reverted. - The speakers give out high quality sound in my opinion, but the placement of the right-hand speaker is a bit poor, as it causes the laptop frame to reverberate, causing a harsh sound when you're above roughly 60% system audio. It can be honestly a little annoying.

Great gaming laptop
Excellent little gaming comp. I've had this machine for over a year and I game on it almost daily. I can run most my games ( mmo,s like Rift, SWTOR and others) on Max video settings. When I bought it the price was lower ( about 550.00). I upgraded to 32g gram bit there isn't a lot of storage so I'm going to upgrade that. I just came across a game that I have to run on all the lowest settings (Oblivion remastered) so I ordered an external card for that (8gb) and plug it into the thunderbolt slot, we shall see if that helps. Other than that one game this things been great. No issues, no overheating and no shutdowns. Beware of two things, If you crank up the fans they are loud and the sound speakers are terrible. But i use headphone so that point is mute for me. Good machine.

Outperformed My Previous MacBooks
I needed a portable laptop and had to make an immediate purchase before a flight. The price and performance were excellent. I do not regret this purchase and still use the laptop. It has performed better than the MacBooks I previously owned for personal, professional, and educational use.

Amazing screen quality and performance at its price, but loud fans and poor speakers
The screen was sufficiently bright and could run games pretty well, but the fans were pretty loud and the speakers were kinda meh quality. The build quality of the laptop itself was very impressive, very rugged and durable, and the hinges seem like they would last at least 6-7 years. I found that you could lower the fan sound a little by setting the Power profile of your computer to Balanced, and helping it even further along by setting the display to 60 Hz, but it might require you to use Vertical Sync/VSYNC in some games. I was able to run Starfield at 100+ FPS on Low, but the fans were blaring at me the entire time. The fact that it also comes with SATA drive support is also very impressive, because most laptops have completely abandoned SATA support for NVME to save space and for slightly better thermal performance. This computer also has 2 fans for improved thermals (weird fact, I know, but some laptops only have 1), but they also generate twice the noise. Aside from that, this is a very solid entry-level gaming laptop and will be able to run modern games at low-medium settings for at least a few years.

Essentially DOA
When I recieved the laptop, it was in perfect physical condition, but it kept crashing due to hypervisor errors during setup (every 3-5mins) It also kept losing connection to the wifi. After spending about 4 hours giving it the benefit of the doubt trying to make sure it had all its updated drivers (it arrived with roughly 2 hours of updates missing) the same error still occurred every 3-5 mins. I called acer, after some quick troubleshooting, they requested for me to send it out to them. The shipping & repair time were quick. I recieved it back within the 5-10 days promised, only to find... the exact same error. It immediately threw identical hypervisor errors (I dont know how Acer support missed those and said it was fixed) to which I called acer, and they said I'd need to mail it back. Thankfully, I wasn't outside of Amazon's return policy yet, so I returned it to the seller instead. Take the 1* reviews seriously; my husband and I saw a few people had issues, so we tested ours almost immediately. The specs on the device are great, but we were given an error-riddled device.
