Nature's Miracle Advanced Platinum Cat Scratch Deterrent Spray, 8 Ounces, Discourages Destructive Scratching

I have the world’s scratchiest cat. Love her to death but she and I moved in with my partner and kitty went about destroying the fabric dining room chairs and my partner’s favorite living room chair. Can’t believe it took me months to think of looking for a spray. I sprayed all the scratched surfaces (does smell nice and the smell fades quickly) and the result was instant—no more scratching AT ALL (though she still sits on the chairs, which is good). After 10 days I saw her scratch once, so sprayed everything again. I think the bottle will last for months at this rate—a good deal for 8 bucks. I get that it doesn’t work for all cats, which is a bummer. Definitely thought it wouldn’t work for us, but it seems we got lucky. Wish they made a spray for begging at the dinner table like a damn dog ;-)

All though product seems to be working. The pump sprayer on bottle is awful!Don't know if it is damage or just the way it is.When I spray product it foams all out around the spray nozzle gets all over bottle and my hand. Waste more product then I use.Waited to long to try it to send it back. Buyer beware.

Works. I can smell it the day it goes on. Reduced scratching immediately. Lasted about a month, which was enough to break the habit. I couldn't see it at all on white carpet.

I sprayed my armchair. The cat walks by, takes a wiff, then walks over to his scratch post and scratches the hell out of it. LOL. Hour 1 = success! Cat reaction update on 9/14/25. The cat stopped scratching for less than 24 hours. I have to apply this product every other day, unfortunately. My cat is a special case though. I've never had one this destructive!!! The inside of the shipping envelope was wet. Spray bottle was not properly sealed for transport. The liquid is not sticky. I applied it to a dark brown chair and there is no residue. The chair smells like rosemary, cornmint and citronella oils now. Got some on my hand and my skin is not irritated.

Product works to train my cat to stay away from certain furniture. It works so well for my cat that she will avoid the entire room if I spray this on my sofa or box-springs. Don’t get it misconstrued, you may have to reapply after the deterrent smell wears off. I had no problems with it damaging or discoloring my sofa and I have no other pets where it may cause a reaction. No reaction with children either. It does smell a tad wonky as it has essential oils in it. Like cedar and lemongrass among others. 4 star review is because this bottle has a defective spray mechanism, so the button gets stuck down when I press it and I have to coax it to pop up once more. Doing this repeatedly during a course of spraying this solution makes it annoying because it gets on my hands and makes the whole process take longer.

My female cat is a rescue so I’m not sure of her exact age but she’s definitely an old lady who loves to destroy things like my furniture. I recently remodeled my house and purchased all new furniture and I was not about to let her destroy any of it. This stuff works miracles, even on an old lady like Fiona Louise! I spray it everywhere daily before I leave for work and I leave the bottle out where she can see it and she has yet to even get near any of my new furniture. It’s gotten to where I just show her the bottle and she scurries away. I do provide scratching posts and cat nip as a distraction which I’m sure helps but I do think this stuff is the main reason she’s no longer scratching on my furniture. It also seems to have stopped my male dogs from lifting a leg in my house as well. It is safe to use on furniture and high end floors. The fragrance is potent but that’s the point to this spray anyway. I highly recommend this stuff!

Smells nice. Doesn’t help. Cats continue to scratch at the rug regardless of the spray.

This works! We have a cat that we sometimes refer to as Mr. Nervous Guy, and when he gets anxious he treats the carpet as a scratching post. So when I bought this I didn’t really have my hopes up because it sounded too good to be true but it works! It sort of smells like menthol (like a cough drop). It’s not a bad smell, but it is a strong smell. To my nose it lasts a day and then I don’t smell it, but I think my cats smell it longer. You do need to reapply maybe every two weeks but it’s not like it’s hard to do that.
