Good for Moths in Many Ways
I've smelled some funky moth balls over the years. But these are not funky moth balls. I didn't have to bring harm to any moths during the process of smelling these moth balls. This day and age, having a product produced like this, it is VERY important not to have engaged in any ethically questionable processes when dealing with animals and insects. But the nice thing about these is I can order moth balls now from Amazon without partially smashing the moths on the walls or ceiling when in the house. I wish I knew moth balls could be purchased. I've accidentally tore off lots of moth legs over the years. Good product.

Better smelling than regular mothballs
I do not think they smell like cedar, but they don't smell as bad as regular mothballs. There are about 40 paper packets, but it takes quite a few: 4 for small storage bag (3 cu ft); 14 for average garment bag (12 cu ft) and 18 for a large trunk (15 cu ft). The instruction don't say how long they last.

someone in production has a strange idea about cedar scent
The packets are easy to use. I have to assume they are working, although I have seen no dead moths. They smell exaclty like moth balls, so don't buy these thinking you will escape the mothball smell.
