This gauge is easy to read because the holder has a blue background built into the holder. This is a nice size - large enough to see easily. The top edge of the vessel is tapered to a fine edge at the top. I think that makes what it collects more representative of the amount of rain that actually fell. The rod and spiked end going into the ground worked OK. But I did not like bending over to pick up / read the gauge. So, I attached the holder to a wooden post. The holder has a slotted hole for a screw to make doing that very simple.

I purchased 2 of these; one for myself and one for a friend. I like that this plastic rain gauge fits inside a holder, can be easily removed in order to empty the rainwater, and it stakes into the ground. It also has a hole on the iron holder if you want to hang it on a wall. The markings are easy to read and container is clear and concise. It's perfect for measuring our recent rains!

Nice very clear plastic for rain amounts. Will it stay clear? Can be put in ground anywhere or hung on wall only drawback if wall hung, the top is out about 1/2” and nothing to hold bottom out same 1/2” so it’s tipped unless you put something under bottom 1/2” thick.

When I originally bought my decorative wrought iron rain gauge it had a glass collecting tube, which was fragile and inevitably broke. It is only by looking on Amazon that I discovered there is a sort of standard size, and there are both plastic replacement tubes and glass. This time I bought a plastic one -- with nice big lettering -- and it fits the stand perfectly and looks great. And I'm hoping it will be a lot more durable. The cleaning tool is nice, too, as I know from experience scum tends to collect at the bottom of the tube due to the presence of water from dew, etc.

Works very well. Love that I can look up what the rainfall is over different time stands.Just set it on the deck rail, and moved it around till it was level.set it up and waited till it rained. Didn't have to wait very long.

I absolutely love it! It is so attractive in the back of ny town house. Yesterday we had a significant amount of rain, when it was over I was able to open the door and life the beaker out and see how much rain we actually received.

Large numbers on the gauge make it easy to read from inside the house. The stake has two prongs instead of one which helps to hold the gauge up in heavy wind. I am very happy with this product.

This rain gauge is accurate. the main problem I have with this product is that it seems to remove the rain total several times a day> I would like to have it keep the daily rainfall total for 24 hours. It does keep rainfall totals for periods of time, so it doesn't erase the amount, it just groups it together differently. I live in South California, so rainfall amounts per day are important to me. Otherwise, this is a good product for totaling amounts for week, month and total for year.
