Excellent class text
I used this book at the start of the academic year as a bonding exercise with my new Year 2 class. The children truly loved it, as did I!

Marvellous!
We love this book! It has inspired so many drawing and colouring-in sessions with my children and there seems to be no end to the new Marvellous hats we can come up with. Lovely illustration and charming story.

Great illustrations, surreal story
Lovely, fantastic story. My toddlers love it. It is unusual, and stimulates imagination. Great illustrations.

Wonderful, non materialist story of a little girl with great imagination
I can't find many books for the girls age 5-8, which actually tell a story about a girl of the same age. Millie's Marvellous Hat is a lovely story about a girl who, with the power of her imagination, can create wonderful hats. I like the non materialistic message of this lovely book. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because my 6 year old daughter prefers Dr Seuss's books.

Millie's Marvellous Hat
Very entertaining. Bought for my Grandson who likes 3 books every bed time; so we need to have something that appeals to the reader as well as to him.

Excellent pictures and story - its Marvellous!
Bought this for my 2 yr old called Millie and she loves it! We've read it most nights since Christmas, and she also enjoys looking at the pictures on her own.

This is simply glorious. Neither myself nor my 3 year old son tire of it, and that is a rare thing for us to be in such harmonious agreement!

Great story, and great conversation starter!
Satoshi Kitamura has done it again. I love all his books, but this one is fast becoming a favorite. Millie is a girl who wants a hat but doesn't have any money. The wonderful hat merchant gives her an invisible hat that can be anything she wants. Whenever I read it to students it always starts discussions on what sort of hats they would have. (I also must say the salesman is my hero for not chasing this girl with no money out of his store!) I could look at the pictures all day and always see something new.

Without a doubt, this is the Kitamura's BEST book. The story is warm, imaginative and colorful. It gives the chance to create and invent a new world. The color palette and the illustrations are very creatives.Millie's Marvellous Hat (Andersen Press Picture Books)
