I got this for my husband for Christmas because he's a big marvel fan and we've played it a few times and I even enjoy it

Got this as have some marvel fun with my son and it does provide some good times where you do feel like the character you're playing.The downside is that the end of each encounter is a pure maths exercise where you add up if you can kill the boss this turn which feels like a bit of a let-down as there is variance at all.If that sounds like your thing them go for it. If not and you're not stuck on marvel I'd recommend The Arkham Horror series.

The base box has 5 heroes and 3 villains, plenty to play around with.If you enjoy it l... the hero packs, expansion packs and scenario packs will add to the game and subtract alot from your bank account.If it's worth it or not is for you to decide but the base game on its own is good value and is a great game

A great game once you get to grips how it works!Qlthough the instructions explai a lot there are still questions you are left asking. Great for learning together if you have the time and patience but otherwise I would recommend playing with someone who has played before.

How about taking on four villains instead of just one? The Wrecking Crew bring a new villain dynamic to Marvel Champions – and it's a lot of fun.I've only played this campaign solo, so far - but it keeps you thinking. Although you only engage one of the Crew at a time, there is plenty of opportunity for them to switch places throughout the play session. It took me a couple of attempts to get the right strategy, and it's definitely a campaign I will keep coming back to as it helps add variety.If you're looking to expand the Core set, but don't want to buy another big expansion set, this would be a good choice. Makes for a nice compact scenario to pack on a holiday or take to a gaming session - just remember to pack four of your 'Hero' HP Trackers (as the Hero uses the Villain Tracker, in a reverse of the norm).NB. I've noticed Amazon have not been the best on price for these Marvel Champions packs. Keep an eye out on other tabletop gaming stockists, or your local gaming retailer. I've picked up other Villain packs for ~£12.

If you enjoy the Core set of Marvel Champions, you will inevitably want to get more character packs. I'm by no means an expert at the deck building component of this game yet, but I certainly found Cap to be a useful Hero for his retaliate ability, meaning that whenever you take damage, you deal some out too - always useful to bring that Villain HP down quicker (deals with Minions pretty quickly too).The packaging, although not eco-friendly, is very serviceable for carrying around cards (and tokens), as it clasps shut again snuggly. Might be useful if you intend to take your Hero to a gaming session with friends.I've since found a better average price of ~£9.99 elsewhere from specialised table-top gaming stockists on the internet, so don't be drawn in to buying these hero packs for the £14.99 they're usually listed at.Cap is one of the first wave of Heroes released (pre Rise of The Red Skull expansion), and comes with a nice mini-poster on the back of his player guide sheet that comes included. Well worth recruiting to your team.

This is really fun game to play, especially for Marvel Fans. I would say that the fact it is a game based entirely around the marvel universe and the characters it probably carries the game slightly, but would highly recommend.Great game to play by yourself or with 2-max 3 players. Above 2 players does slow the game down considerably.Slightly confusing to begin with, however, after a few plays you get the hang of the game and it is really enjoyable. It is also worth noting that this core set is great value for money, with a ton of scenarios and replay ability.
