Geo F Trumper GFT Citrus Shaving Cream Bowl

Around a year ago, I started becoming far more environmentally friendly in the products I buy. I had ditched the heavy synthetically fragranced gels and chemically saturated rich foams found in High Street products . I had used Trumper products before, usually the solid soap which lasted for years. It was incredibly good value however... the issue with solid blocks is the fragrance often dissipated the longer you keep the soap. As amazing value solid soap is, you do miss the fragrance that a good quality shave soap can give you and with Trumpers, the fragrances are so good. Light, not overpowering but with enough blend that make a statement.So moving over to a Tube creme soap over a solid was the best of both worlds. Yes you will go through a creme soap quicker, but the benefits of a tube is so much more. Handy to pack away in a travel case, a rich lather without overfill of an aerosol.Match this with a good quality shaving bowl and brush, and you are transported into a luxury brand of shaving in the convenience of your own bathroom. There comes a time when the scent of Lynx and Gillette etc; suddenly become the cliché of starter kits to new shavers and products that exasperated mums give teen boys as a early shaving hint. Plastered with Football endorsements and other sports activity pursuits. Sometimes some guys get tired of smelling like a gym locker room from the time they wake up.Trumpers makes shaving everyday a far more pleasurable and dare I say, mature and gentlemanly pursuit. The Rose and Violet are my personal favorites, not just for the face but as an all over body routine shaving regime. They smell as they should, natural oils and not synthetic gunk !!A True Winner !!

I have not had trumper creams before and so when i read a review that the scent was akin to parma violet sweets, I thought I’d give this a go. On opening the box and piercing the film cap I sniffed and being blunt it’s nothing like parma violets. This is a floral scented cream and so not like the normal citrus/sandle/pine woody scents that I’m used to from other brands. Not unpleasant by any means just not sweet.Scent aside though the lather this stuff creates is incredible. Smooth, thick but light and glides over the face brilliantly. I never know why people claim their products to be luxurious as most simply aren't, but this really lives up to that name. It’s so good that I forgot to apply my usual preshave and given I use an open comb razor, I normally feel when I’ve skipped something. Not with this stuff.In short it’s a great item but will try other scents in the future.

I bought this shave cream on a whim, for my husband, who has sensitive skin on his face, which means many shaving products cause redness and flakiness. From the first use, the hubby loved it, telling me it was soothing, produced a very good shave & smelled glorious. Well, for a daft, hairy Geordie bloke…that’s pretty much sheer poetry. I’ve ordered another two tubes.

I have been shaving with a blade for over 40 years, this cream is the best I ever used, wonderful lather worked in bowl in seconds, very little amount applied to the brush to produce a wonderful creamy friction free lather, highly recommended, will always use now.

Best shaving cream on the market, smooth with fantastic cover from a small quantity. Good value, helps produce a great smooth shave

I love this, and all the Trumper creams (I currently also have WI Limes and Sandlewood) plus the matching Skin Food. Great, rich lather and scent. SO much better than Trumper soaps, which I think are dreadful considering this is one of the great British shaving brands. Such poor, thin lather .. unlike the creams

Trumpers shaving cream is definitely the best I've ever used and personally the GFT fragrance is my fave. Quite musky but still fresh. there are lots of others and the rose and cedar fragrances are actually pretty good too. It is expensive but you only ever use a tiny ammount with your shaving brush so a tub normally lasts me at least 6 months.It really is so much nicer than any of the aerosol foams or gels and as you use a brush goes a lot further and is a lot less mess.

As a shaver who has used gel from an aerosolised can for many years, I decided to treat myself to a pot of this wonderful stuff. Well, well! It is FABULOUS! Best used with a shaving brush, you really only need to swirl the wet brush hairs once around the inside of the pot. It lathers amazingly - just a tiny amount produces plenty of lather that coats my face twice as I shave both ways. It smells great, but it is not overly-perfumed. Just enough to make you smile and feel good about yourself.The biggest difference that I have noticed though is that after shaving, my face is left baby-soft. Much more so than when using shaving gel out of a can. And even though I use a very sharp 2-edged blade, which I change regularly, I have not once cut or nicked myself since I have started using this cream.Don't waste time looking for anything else!
