Lack of question card holders is unforgivable
The questions aren’t too hard or too easy for the most part. They follow the original Genus edition categories, and are content appropriate for the UK.But because of penny pinching they don’t include any card holders for passing the question cards round the table, which makes gameplay much more awkward. The board is also quite plain, not decorated like the old Genus edition. I know this is a style thing, but it just comes off looking a bit cheap.

Does what it says on the tin
It’s trivial pursuit and no problems

Printed questions are too small.
Now I know I'm getting older, but it is far too difficult to read the question cards. Is it just me? Great game all the same.

Still good fun
We've got the original "Genus" edition from way back, so it was nice to get a fresh set of questions. Unlike some other reviews, we don't agree that it's been dumbed down but has a good range of questions for all the family so that teenagers as well as adults can enjoy it equally. And that is the point - it's a family game, not one that's loaded in favour of more experienced adults who will always win.It could certainly do with more questions though - there are only 400 cards, so that's 2400 questions in total. We've played it quite a few times and the same questions are now starting to come up again, especially as you can easily get through around half of them in a game with 4 people playing.Another missed opportunity is the lack of card holders - there are 4 piles of questions which can't be held very securely in the box, so if you put it on its side when storing away, be prepared for a bit of a mess when you open it again! Elastic bands will solve the problem though. But it would have been nice to have something to put them in while playing, instead of passing piles of loose cards around. The board itself is very plain. The original had nice illustrations in each space covering all the categories but this new version just has plain, solid colours, which is pretty boring in comparison.Nevertheless, the game is still good fun and I think you'll enjoy it if you're a fan of the original.

It’s trivial pursuit
Well it’s trivial pursuit so people know this game (well most people, not me). I bought this game having knew of the game but didn’t realise how bloody hard It is, most of the questions are ridiculously hard so probably not the best family game. I think this is more suited for seasoned quizzers. I did play it and it took ages due to the hard questions , I finished the game but it has been sitting in a box since.

Family Game Night just got more competitive!
Having played this game A LOT in the 80s and 90s, this was great to play with my kids now the youngest is 14.The writing on the cards seems to have got smaller, however am willing to concede that I’m getting on and need my glasses more often these days! All in all, a great classic general knowledge game for the family, particularly good for these dark winter nights.
