If you are an avid student of scripture, I can offer no better than to recommend the NKJV Thomas Chain Reference Bible.The NKJV has been found - through several studies - to lend itself to scripture memorization better than any other translation with the exception of the KJV. The sentence structure is short, with a lyrical use of syntax. Maybe this is why it is conducive to memorization over, say, the NASB which can be a bit clunky at times with a series of run-on sentences, particularly in the Pauline epistles. But just as important, the Thompson Chain gives us a chance to see scripture interpret scripture. The reference chains and the host of other 'helps' in this edition, make it the perfect study Bible in my opinion.

I needed a larger print edition of scripture and also wanted a good study Bible. This Thompson Chain reference Bible is both. Easy to use, perfect size print, and the chain style references are non-intrusive, while easily accessible. This one will be with me for many years to come and I encourage anyone who is needing a larger print edition to read to get this one. The only draw-back is that it is also much larger in size and weight, so it can be a challenge to open and read during morning worship on Sundays.

Thompson Chain Reference Bibles are such a help for a deep learning of Scripture. If you want a deeper learning and closer relationship with our God, Jesus Christ and you do not want to buy multiple Commentaries, this is the reference Bible for you. I purchased so many copies of commentaries and one wouldn’t include what I was looking for, another gave conflicting information ℹ️ and I just threw up my hands and prayed for this Bible. I still have to use my commentaries, occasionally, but not near as much as before. I really think it would really be good for students wanting to enter the ministry. I think most ministers are already aware of it, but if not it would be good for preparing sermons.I’m still in “learning phase” but it will get there. If you get lost 😞 just go to the video on the site where you purchased the Bible and it gives very clear, concise instructions for anyone to follow.
