Vacuum Cleaner Outer Bag Replacement for/Compatible With Oreck XL Upright

I bought this to replace the cloth bag on my now well over 25-year-old Oreck XL vacuum cleaner (model U3700HH). The bag material is good quality, I found it to be the same as the OEM bag. The heavy-duty zipper, quality of construction, and stitching, I again found to be identical to the OEM bag it replaced. And the fit was exact. Having now examined, installed, and used this product, I’m unable to find even a minor item to make note of. I wouldn’t see what spending over $25 more for the OEM product would buy me that this product doesn’t have.There are many comments on regarding the lack of instructions. But don’t blame this bag manufacture. No instructions are provided because there are none. I found no instructions on the Oreck website nor are there any in the user manual. For reasons I cannot understand, Oreck decided not to publish any cloth bag replacement instructions. Other postings provide replacement instructions, so I won’t duplicate those here. I will remind you to remove the white plastic clip on the bottom of your old bag and re-install it on your new one (the clip unsnaps easily with a gentle twist of a screwdriver blade on the edges). Then attach the metal spring on the back of the vacuum in the slot on the clip as shown in the photos. (Note: the OEM cloth bag doesn't come with a plastic clip either. You are expected to reuse the plastic clip from your old bag.)Now a vacuum as good as new, set for another 25 years perhaps.

if fit, but the holes at the bottom were perforated on an angle, i had to cut new holes to make it even, so far it's good.

This is a really great generic bag. It works well with my old Oreck. It is a bit smaller than the original, but the material is strong, soft, and durable. It even has pockets in the back! If you need a new bag and want to save some money, this is great. When installing with an Oreck vacuum, remember to keep the rubber clamp on the bottom. It is needed hook the bag to the machine. It’s very easy to remove and reinstall onto the new one. If you can’t keep the clamp for whatever reason, then you will have to buy a new one, as it’s not included. This is a great bag and helped me repair my old vacuum.

I purchased and installed the Oreck XL replacement roller onto my 2001 upright about a year ago. While my vacuum worked like new due to the excellent motor that still worked, my device looked like crap because the outer bag was torn to shreds on the sides. This item made the vacuum both look and work like new again. It took me 25 minutes from the "get the vacuum and find a YouTube video" step to completion and this included cleaning the whole device with a paper towel and Windex. You do have to remove the 2 bag retainer pieces from the old bag. The new one will have the rectangular plastic backing. Search YouTube for "How to Remove an outer Bag from an Oreck Vacuum" and following the simple directions in the 3:12 video. The only thing she doesn't explain is how to remove the rectangular plastic clamp on the bottom of the old bag. It is literally six clips - I pulled them apart with my hand - and the clip pegs line up with the holes on the bottom of the bag. If you need a new outer bag for your Oreck, I highly recommend this item (as well as the replacement rollers which are $12.36 as of today on Amazon).

Great product

Saved about $75.00 buying with Amazon vs Oreck . Only thing missing was a bar across the bottom of the bag, but I used a cable tie to substitute securing the bottom to the frame .House keeper used it to day no problems!

This says it will fit any XL except for a few mentioned, but that is not totally true. We have a Platinum and while this fits, we had to put it inside our regular bag and make some minor adjustments to get it to work. For the price it is good and does its job, but it did not fit like I expected it to fit.I would not hesitate to buy this, but don't throw away your original out bag because you may need it to put around this bag to make sure everything attaches back together properly.
