Beyond Annoyed
This purchase left me angry. The description says 3 packs totaling 50 red envelopes. What I actually received was ONE pack containing a measly 6 red envelopes. In other words, 44 fewer than what's advertised. Moreover, the design of the 6 envelopes was nothing like what's shown in the pictures. All 6 envelopes said Happy New Year, with 2018 painted across the top. It was already May 2018 when I made the purchase. Seems like the seller just wanted to dump some outdated red envelopes. If this is not deception, I don't know what is.

negative M V Trading Co,
Have anyone ever heard of the "Mother in Law Tongue," and what it implies? Monika H. at MV Trading seems to have several sets of these tongue. You can tell that I a bit pissed.I can not attach the photos here, and also do not want to paraphrase. Please take out a couple precious minutes of your time and read the emails, then you can get an accurate picture of how these "trickster" companies operate. Here is the three short emails:1. me > MV Trading co.: I received my order very quickly, however, 1. they are not the three designs shown, 2. two out of the three - boy w/ dragon and fish w/ firecrackers are severely water damaged - clued together, all edges are worn-out - color came off - they were wet or at least moist when being shrink-wrapped - still moist / wet to the touch, and 3. the pink color envelop is not in the pack. When holding 1 envelop, the rest unfold like an accordion. the fish w/ citrus are a little bit wet, but I can dry them out - should be ok. Do you want to send me the correct items: the boat, the eight fishes around the wind charm, and the pink envelop? Or do you want me to send everything back to get a total new complete pack? ADVERTISED: "... Will send exactly what's shown from the picture, no random assorted or substitute..." you advertised - new, not used. I do want NEW envelop - EXACTLY as shown - not the substitute you sent." You know that old damage envelops can not be use for the purpose that the Laisee is designed to do / to be given out.2: MV Trade Co.:"Sorry...may we have a photo... The listing was altered by another seller. I just want to inform you we do not have the pink envelope. We can substitute... with a nicer design if that is okay with you?..Just think: Advertised something 4 sale. Got the payment but don't need to send it. When customer asked, then just inform them that you didn't send the item because: 1. you don't have it + 2. somebody put the photo into your store, item for sale! 3. they get partial and damaged goods because it cheap, and you didn't even charge them for shipping. So if they want better stuff, you have it and they can pay more.Excellence customer service: A MBA can't teach you these RARE skills -- observe and learn, all you business people out there.3. After sent photo, replied from MV trading Co.: "This is how mass production is in China (don't really have the items listed because the photo was altered by some body?). This red envelopes are cheap and it is on a free shipping. This is how is it made (water damaged? stuck together like an accordion? color scrapped off on 3 sides?). If you want higher quality kinds we carry them also. You can check for those on our website. But they only come in very small quantity per package. Honestly no one will look on the side of the envelope. This is a very traditional Chinese red envelope they are all made like this."For all you "Asian" people out there, or may be this doesn't just apply to only the Asians, when receive a new year "Good Luck" gift, you don't really look at the thing now, do you? "It is the thoughts that count." Old and stained newspaper, toilet paper, things from the garbage - that is not a big deal, right?Amazon, is there a below 1 star? May be .001 or .o...1 star? Can you make a check box for this, please, please, please. I am on my knee and begging - please, please, please. I promise to be a good boy for the entire year. Please give me this below one check box as new year good luck gift - or I have to pay? How much? I have friends who will pool the $.BUYERS >>>>>>>>>> BEWARE ----- tricksters are at work ------

Cheap and exactly as advertised
These are pretty small, be sure you look at the description carefully. You can fold a typical check in thirds to make it fit, even half won't do. It's really meant as a novelty item, because "real" red pockets are much larger and can usually hold checks or cash without folding. I'm using them as a Chinese teaching tool for kindergarteners, to hold a few coins for the kids. For that, it's perfect. Some other reviewers complained that the pattern is not as advertised. Mine arrived exactly as shown in the photo, with 3 different patterns and metallic gold highlights. I think these are a great value.

Gift for kindergarten class
Each year I donate these to classroom teachers who want their kindergarten students to receive a Chinese New Years token gift. It is so nice to order from Amazon rather than drive 50 miles round trip to San Diego to hunt for these in Asian markets! The kids loved these! The price was good!

Good price but some were defective
Serious procrastinator here. Amazon Prime saved me when I had forgotten to buy red envelopes for this year's Chinese new year. These looked simple and traditional and most of them were OK. We did run into a problem with about 5-10 envelopes between two packs (100 envelopes). The glue / adhesive was not strong enough to hold the envelope together or the slit was not cut through.
