My kid lost the battery clamp for her car, so I purchased this battery clamp for her 2011 Ford Escape. Ours arrived in good shape, and the battery clamp seems sufficiently well made and sturdy for the job. I purchased the clamp with the long J bolts; I could cut the bolts if I needed to. The bolts are indeed long, about an inch longer than they need to be, but the hood arches well over the bolts, so we did not need to cut the bolts. The clamp also arches quite a bit, and the wing nut sticks up even higher, so clearly it will not fit well on some if not many cars. It works well in this application, is well enough made and sturdy, and inexpensive. I am satisfied with this purchase.

Easy to adjust and install, rod was a little long but I just cut it to shorten the length.

I needed a new bracket for my Tacoma battery, easy install and fits like a glove after making a few adjustments.

For the price it is an ok hold down and serves the purpose. The top of mine was not flat (hold-downs were bowed upward), so took a little persuasion with a hammer and vise to correct them. The hold-down rod ends had different angles and lengths (one short hook and one long hook end), but again the hammer and vise came in handy. I used it on a tractor but would think twice about it if it was for my car.
