Ideal for first not second fix
Was a really great hammer but that’s if your framing doing first fix and not second fix but other than that was good and the black looks cool

Might get another
Tried a lot of hammers over the years while it’s always down to preference this is by far my favourite good weight a little on the long side but fantastic for leverage used it for hanging joists and removing and replacing fencing recently 👍🏻

Very nice - I was starting to get worried that it ...
Very nice - I was starting to get worried that it might be too heavy and that the 15oz would be better, but it's fine. For light tapping, just hold it further up the handle, to really belt something hold it normally. After a bit of practice, I got a better feel for the balance - just get it moving, and it will do the work - the nail goes in effortlessly. And build wise, it seems very tough. I guess the paint will eventually scratch, but well, its a hammer! What I really do like is the straight claw - my other hammer is an old Stanley (my grandfather's so I'm holding on to it!), with a pronounced curve. Good for getting out nails, but a lot of the time I was using it to pry things, and it was often awkward for this. This hammer is great - just whack it into the gap (or make a gap!) and lever. Given that I'm just a DIYer, it will probably outlast me.

Does the job!
Great quality, comfortable does the job! Look strong easy with grip. But could be cheaper.

Quality for the price
The hammer I purchased was the long shanked version and I was unaware of that so it's a bit excessive for me I would have much prefered the regular length one at the same weight as the long one is way too clumsy to handle for the work I do with it.but other than that quality.

It's an Estwing
Bought this to replace my old Vaughan framing hammer. It's an Estwing so it's well made, beautifully balanced and the shock absorption is really first rate. The nail starter is okay, my old Vaughan worked better, and the striking surface of the head is a little small but it swings well and isn't tiring in use. Not sure if a milled face is available. It's a decent length so you get plenty of hit even though it's 19oz. If you do a lot of framing you might want to look at a Martinez or a Stiletto but this works well for me. Made in the USA.

Rust on the hammer
Was very excited to receive a Estwing hammer as I have always wanted one only to find rust and brown markings all over the steel when it arrived. Not happy at all

Excellent Product. It is hard to believe that a basic tool, such as a hammer could be improved. We all have standard hammers and as part of a small kitchen tool kit, we have a couple of screw drivers and hammers from the dollar store. We are under going an extensive house remodeling and baring walls down to the studs. Pros: This hammer has a nice weight to it that it is hard to find in other brands. The side indention to remove nails is a must when working in tight spaces that don't allow the longer nail puller to be used. The grip is excellent. It allows for a firm grip when you need it most and cushions the blows to reduce stress to hand/joints. The flat head is exactly what we needed. (There is a version with the milled -indented- head) Magnetic nail started - Very useful. Solidly built in one piece. No welds or joints. Sears price is over $100 and Amazon has it for less than half the price. Home Depot price is comparable (as of this writing) to Amazon, but it is not always in stock or it may not be the 19 ounce version (as we found out). Cons: I only list the cons here that some people may find these important. We don't because the product does what we need it to do. * The price may be too steep for someone who occasionally drives a nail through the wall. * The color is black, not blue as described on Amazon's website.

Top Werkzeug !

The hammer has chipped out parts of paint, holes on the dirty and sticky rubber and in some corners looks like it has beed grinded or dragged on the floor.
