Brooks England Women's B17 'S' Standard Leather Saddle

In 1974 I was given a bicycle with a Brooks B17 saddle. Since then I must have cycled more than 250,000 miles on a succesion of bikes, but all with the original Brooks B17 (eventually) after trying more than 10 other saddle types, ranging in cost from over £100 down to about £20. Other saddles are fine for short rides or if you have very expensive padded shorts (although even then only for up to about 3-4 hours) Only the B17 stays comfortable, whether you are riding for 6, 7, or even 15 hours. My original 40-plus year old B17 is still not at the end of it's days, but the adjuster has now reached the end of it's travel and I had to take the plunge for a new one sometime. If you are any kind of serious cyclist, or just want to forget about your rear-end and concentrate on enjoying the ride, this is a joy to own, an investment, and exquisitely made... It probably weighs a fair bit more than the lightweight plastic and titanium creations you see on the all-carbon bikes that are common these days, but a few ounces has well under a single percent effect on climbing ability or endurance compared to the tremendous difference that 'forget your rear' comfort can make four or five hours into a long ride.

Have purchased my Brooks saddles before for myself and family. Always provide years of comfortable riding.

A bit stiff but it's leather so it's to be expected. Comes with the balm to help the "breaking" process and softens with time. Absolutely love it!

Siempre ando con dolores de culo, asi que me recomendaron este sillin para recorridos largos. Lo compre para hacer el camino de santiago y perfecto, despues de hacer 100 km cada dia, al dia siguiente me podia sentar otra vez en el sillin sin ver las estrellas. Muy recomendable!

Der Sattel ist original verpackt geliefert worden. Es sitzt sich sehr gut auf diesem Sattel. Der etwas breitere und kürzere Damensattel ist für mich ideal. Gerade die auf den ersten Blick eventuell abschreckende Festigkeit des Sattels ist super. Durch die glatte Oberfläche hat man mehr Bewegung und das Gesäß wird besser entlastet. Einziger Nachteil: Bei Regen sollte er wohl besser mit einer Hülle geschützt werden.

From the first time use this saddle I have no discomfort even for 4 hrs ride. I think the most important think is the width which I found very nicely support my butt. Looks very nice to my road bike if u don't mind with the extra weight

Stunningly well-made, comfortable, and stylish. Brooks England hasn't lost its commitment to quality, nor its access to the employees and infrastructure that made their name and it shows! I'm wild about this shorter design since I often ride in skirts, and I highly recommend the simple brown color because it's so pretty as it ages! I unwittingly purchased the classic B17 model years ago and the seat took on just the most beautiful color variations over time. The seat was eventually stolen, which gave me the opportunity to purchase this skirt-friendly women's design that I'd discovered a year or so ago. Couldn't be happier! Ladies, this is one luxury product that's worth every penny! One final note: The broader seat frame is incredibly comfortable, even if you have only a modest bum. Ask me how I know!
