Great for melting silver
You need to use map gas not butane gas like some ppl have on here.

Nice and solid
I use this for casting lead weights and it’s absolutely perfect. The handle is just the right length and it pours nicely.

The Gold sticks to the flask
Even using plenty of Borax and we have tried other gold fluxes but the gold sticks to the bottom of the metal.

Soaks up a lot of heat, not suitable for melting silver with a butane torch
Used a whole bottle of butane to get about 6 grams of silver red hot, however wasn't able to get it hot enough to melt. This is heavy and has a lot of thermal mass which drank all the heat

Perfect for hobbyists
Recycling my snippets, filings and off cuts made easy. I made an ingot mould several years ago and now I can melt, pour and resume everything.

I would have sent this back if the puppy hadn’t got hold of the item in the box and chewed the handle!The melting pot has hang overs from the coating which cover the pouring point which makes it impossible to pour.
