can it be applied by brush?

Yes, this product can be applied by brush or spray but must be second coated before the first coat has dried in. So larger areas need to be broken down into smaller areas if brush applied.

Can this be used on a brick fireplace indoors please?

I can't see why not. I've only used it on the inside of a garage wall a concrete floor & rendering all of which have been successful. It can stain though so be careful of drips.

Can i use this on a slate roof? a roofer has said the slates are become porous, so it sounds ideal, but someone has said no in the q and a - why?

Hi. Unfortunately this is only intended as a water seal for wall applications and slate isn't porous enough for the 402 to soak in to create an efficient seal.

Can this be used to seal polished plaster ?

I would not have thought so as polished plaster has a none porous outer layer which would not let the water seal seep into!
