Average/Poor film, and A Pointless Race at the End
It is an average/poor film, its got quite a weak storyline, painful to watch acting, and quite a few nice cars. The one part of the film I still don't understand is the race at the end, theoretically the winner gets to keep all the other cars, but that is pretty pointless when all the other cars in the race have been DESTROYED all you end up with is your car being slightly more damaged then before as well as (most likely) a full vehicle service maybe even an engine rebuild needed for your high performance vehicle (costing you more money), oh and I forget you will also probably be arrested at the finish line. So I just don't understand the point in entering the race you will either end up with your car upside down in a ditch and be arrested or have your vehicle heavily damage (that will then need lots of money spent on it for it to be in good condition again) as well as be arrested and with no reward due to the same thing happening with everyone else's cars in the race! The only winners are the viewers of the race that don't mind super rare cars being totaled/destroyed for no reason.Overall I would only recommend you watch this if your kid is really into cars and is too young to care about the actual story of the film or if you have watched every other decent film and are seriously bored with nothing else to do.If you are looking for a film to do with vehicles racing, try the movie RUSH it came out in 2013 and is on prime video for free, it is a brilliant film and much more worth your while watch than this film.Hope this review helps.

Guilty Pleasure
Deep and meaningful it is not. Full of cliches and two dimensional characters it is, BUT Aaron Paul being all slightly sardonic is simply a joy. The pairing up of Imogen Poots as the love interest is inspired as these two have genuine good old fashioned chemistry. It does what it says on the tin and is extremely predictable and yet it's like a comfy pair of slippers that I come back to, time and time again. Enjoyable, cliched fun that requires no brainpower but still has enough charm that you don't mind. In fact you quite like. It's certainly my 'go to' movie if I'm feeling unwell and having a sofa day.For what it is, it's perfect.

3D work in this is superb
A lot of professional reviewers say how great some 3D Blu-ray are without actually having a comparison base so it all "looks great" e.g. T2 3D, it's the worst I've seen - if the background is blurred it'll be rendered flat as they think nobody will notice, or fire and smoke scenes don't have correct modelling resulting in flame at the back being in the front. Another is some fast movement (e.g. raising or lowering of an arm, hair blowing) results in a few frames of an object being the incorrect depth (e.g. between arm and body - but you have to look for it)This film I'm happy to say has very little of that, subtle depth is visible in blurred background shots, noticeable in the garage scenes, fire seems to have used the original computer 3D CGI models (e.g. burning cars), and attention to detail as you'd expect is meticulous.

Its better than you might think!
(No spoilers) A really good film indeed. The beginning of the film is a bit dry, and its tricky to understand the character, but 15 minutes into the film it gets really really good and interesting. I don't think the acting is the best, neither is the story, but it really sticks to the video games, and its full of action and stupid comedy in some scenes. Definitely worth watching, and I give it a 5 out 5 for the special effects, and pure action through the film, along with the films fantastic ending. Its also a very nice simple street racing film unlike Fast & Furious. I must admit it is nice to have a good simple film about some proper street racing.A sequel would be good I think!

Wish we had 9 movies of this instead of Fast and Furious
Fast & Furious is a testament to the low IQ of your average cinema goer, as long as there are 'splosions, boobs and fast cars, they'll flock to watch. Not saying this doesn't feature the same but it at least attempts a coherent story, a redemption arc and features actors who, you know...can actually act.
