Brilliant, wish I bought it weeks ago!
Bought for my 6 month old cocker spaniel who doesn’t walk nicely anymore! Pulling to be in-front of the pram, chasing pigeons, pulling to get to other dogs and pulling like a train when we are near home!! She knocked me over in the park the other week, so embarrassing…! I wish I bought this sooner, it’s like walking a different dog now. Sure, she doesn’t like it and huffs about it but walks are so lovely with her now. I hope it lasts!!

It works!
I purchased this for my standard poodle after going through numerous 'no pull' harnesses...which he just pulls against without any trouble! He is what I would describe as a nervous excitable dog, he gets quite anxious when its time for a walk and pulls me along behind him, either trying to get away from everyday noises/objects that scare him, or desperately trying to get towards another dog. I've been through the whole 'positive training, lots of treats, loose leash methods', but as he is so easily distracted and jumpy and won't take treats when he's nervous it just didn't work. When I came across this lead I had my doubts, as in my opinion he is the dog that can defy any anti pull device, but shockingly it seems to be working! We've only used it 5 or 6 times so far and he still spends a lot of the walk trying to paw it off his face, but he's gradually getting used to it. (For extra security I've added a Halti link to the lead, which attaches to the D ring on his collar - bought off Amazon for a few quid). He still tries to jump and chase vans/tractors but then quickly stops in his tracks when he realises he can't get very far. He doesn't necessarily walk by my side on a loose lead, but there is definitely a HUGE reduction in his pulling power, making it much more comfortable for me to walk him. The only issue I have is that when he tries to pull and the rope tightens round his face, it doesn't tend to loosen itself again very easily when he stops pulling, so I keep having to loosening it myself. His fur also occasionally gets caught in the metal ring at the back of his head, however he does have a large poodle 'bouffant' so I guess if your dog has shortish fur this probably wouldn't be an issue! Overall very pleased with this lead, I just hope he gets used to it soon...I will certainly persevere!

Absolute game changer
I have a 6yo German shepherd who is full of energy and loves to pull me about on walks. I’m trying to improve her pulling with different training techniques (walking in a figure 8 etc) but nothing has had such a profound effect on her/us as this lead. Literally from the first walk using this lead she was like a different dog - calm, no pulling WHATSOEVER (not even a little bit!!!), zero reactivity around other dogs or people (whereas before it was hit and miss with her reaction). We tried it on at home in the garden first for half an hour ish, and gave lots of treats etc. She didn’t love it around her nose but it is not digging in at all and she can breathe/eat treats etc freely, I think it’s just a case of getting used to a new sensation. The first walk was along the beach promenade on a sunny Sunday - dogs & people everywhere - and she was the calmest I’ve ever seen. Walks for us are now so much more enjoyable. If you’re considering this lead do not hesitate….BUY IT NOW!! Genuinely life changing haha. We have only been using it for a week or so, so I hope the change in her behaviours become permanent and hopefully even transfer into walks when we don’t use this particular lead (not that I have any plans to stop using this lead).

Works brilliantly
Wow read the write up of a lady that was struggling with her cocker Spaniel pulling after pigeons & like a steam train on its way home, which totally described my dog. I bought it & she was not wrong my dog walks with it's nose on my knee. I was shocked 😲 my shoulders feel normal again. I can highly recommend this lead, but my dog wouldn't but she getting used to it

‘Improvements’ to product
This product has been updated - note there is now a metal ring on the crossover under the neck, which is of concern if it digs in to the windpipe area. Also, the rope over the nose has been ‘improved’ with padding, making it thicker and more likely to obstruct the dog’s vision. Disappointed. I’m using the Gencon flat version instead (which has a fabric crossover).

Simple and effective
I have a 12-month-old GSD cross - basically 27 Kg of power. Although she can be fine on the lead, as a young dog she has a strong tendency to pull when on a traditional lead attached to a collar. I tried this new lead for the first time last night, introducing it slowly so she didn't become too stressed. I got it on her ok. When we started to walk she immediately had a temper tantrum, leaping around and trying to get the lead off her muzzle. If this happens to you, do what I did - wait for the dog to calm down and let her get used to it. Reassure her. 5 minutes later I honestly thought I had a new dog with me. The was no pulling at all, her tail was up, ears not back so not obviously distressed. Its still very early days but my initial thoughts are that this is going to be the way forward, at least until she has learnt proper heelwork at which point I will just use this lead as a traditional slip lead. The slight elasticity of the 'rope' is also good, as it acts as something of a shock absorber for both dog and handler. If I have one reservation, its that the clip that should be attached to the dog's collar is quite small and fiddly, but this does not detract from the main functioning of the lead. 5 Stars.

Stretchy lead is the opposite of anti-pull!
I originally bought this lead over a year ago and it immediately became my favourite lead. I had bought it for when I wanted to go on a leisurely loose lead walk with my dog where I didn't have to have him walking at heel the whole time. I started off with it as a figure of 8 before transitioning to the simple slip once he'd got the hang of not pulling. After much use, the stopper finally gave out recently, so I bought a replacement lead, but it seems Dog and Field have changed the type of rope they use as the new rope lead has a bungee-like stretchiness to it, which completely defeats the purpose of the lead being "anti-pull". A stretchy lead only encourages the dog to pull and any correction you might want to apply is absorbed by the stretch of the lead, so the dog feels nothing! I have tried both the olive and the natural, and they're both the same. I don't know if the material loses its stretchiness with time, but how bad will my dog's walking have gotten by then? It has already become the worst its been in a long time since switching to the new lead, so I am now having to look elsewhere to find a similar lead that doesn't use stretchy rope material. The positives about the lead are that the rubber stopper is tight so stays in place and for the whole of its life (one gripe I had with other leads is that the stopper quickly becomes loose) and the rope is soft and thick so you don't get the kind of burns and cuts with other leads when your dog lunges. It is also a good length for allowing plenty of sniffing within the confines of the lead.

Great lead to prevent pulling
I like this product for ease of use, can be put on quickly. I was happy with the material, very soft and there is no rubbing or chaffing nose. I was disappointed that the clip for attaching to collar was so small and does not fit on to a standard collar ring, I am therefore having to use both a standard leed and the Figure 8 for security (this is the only, but important, fault in an otherwise great product).
