Q: is this mixer up to making fruit cakes eg xmas ,birthday

Absolutely! Its the best i've ever used - & i've had quite a few! I do an awful lot of baking so always invest in a hand mixer with a powerful motor. I had prior to my Bosch mixer a Kenwood & Dualitt both packed in under 12 mths which manufacturers replaced but then they too burnt out. I finally found this Bosch which i bought because of Boschs excellent reputation, it has a powerful motor & it was a lot cheaper than the previous 2! I am really delighted with it, i've used it for several xmas cakes & birthdays too. It's a great machine,would definately recommend. oops! hope i haven't jinxed it!!}

Q: Is there a maximum suggested continuous running time (to prevent motor overheating). Thanks

Hi! I have had a look at the instruction booklet and there is nothing about the maximum running time. There are, however, recipes in it which say, ' half a minute on setting 1 and then 3 to 4 minutes on setting 5. Also in the safety instructions it says ' recommendation: Never switch on the appliance for longer as ( than?) you need to process the ingredients. Hope that helps. I have been pleased with my mixer..much better than the small Kenwood one that I had previously . Hope that helps!

This one is the UK version with the UK connector. I'm not sure about the voltage if it works with 110V.
