I love this stuff but whoever bubblewrapped it was a little too enthusiastic and cracked a lot of the gold sealing wax of the lid. This was meant to be a gift so I'm a little miffed. Debating whether to return it...

I had high hopes for this product. And although it was bubbled wrapped well, it still arrived leaking.The pretty seal needs to be broken off to get to the contents, and inside one finds a lacklustre mustard, coming to half way up the pot, which tastes no different from bog standard wholegrain mustard, except maybe a bit mushier. Maybe this product would have been better if purchased from a store however buying it online was not the way to go. No hint of cognac or any other flavour profile other than "not great" mustard. Not really any heat to it either. Very disappointed.

Cannot really do a review on the contents as bought as a present, however the jar itself looks quite impressive and a decent price. Only issue was that the wax seal had been chipped around the edge and fell out all over the floor when I attempted to open the packaging. Item had been wrapped in bubble wrap, but then dispatched in a jiffy bag rather than a box which might have offered more protection. Not really the products fault and am sure the contents will be fine. Overall though would purchase again as good price and quick delivery time.

The product came very quickly. I watched a brief YouTube video on how to get the cork out and how to reseal it for easy reopening.I bought it to make a Cognac-mustard beef stew recipe that was highly rated in the NY Times food and recipe section. The recipe wasn't to my liking. In addition to the small amount of this mustard it called for, it was loaded down with nearly 3/4 of a jar of Dijon mustard (I used Grey Poupon). It was too strong...overpowering. Next time, I would cut down or even cut out the Dijon and use a little of this to get the mustard flavor.This is very strong mustard. You won't like it, if your idea of mustard is our mild-American-French's-every- day-mustard you get at the church picnic. You will like it, if you like tasting new things and coming up with creative ways to use it. I made a very nice honey mustard dressing with it. And I like it on certain strong flavored sausages. Also I'm planning to try some other cognac-beef recipes with this. "A little dab will do ya" and impart another layer of interesting flavor.I'm glad I bought it. I hope you like it!

I add this to my old and vinegar salad dressings, meat marinades, and directly on my food. Great if you like mustard spicy, but not very hot.
