Nice vanish for terracotta pots
Having soaked my terracotta pots and dried them, I coated them with this clear vanish. It has helped my plants as the pots are not retaining water. Though a little bottle, a little goes a long way. I coated the pots twice. It is good value for money

Great varnish
This is great easy to apply and leaves a lovely shine. Varnished my painted gnome that I completed ignore my painting!

Good varnish easy to use
Very good, makes air dry clay projects shine. Can dry uneven but best to put on with a brush straight from the pot rather than pour on and spread out.

Nice finish but experienced some issues
This product is smooth, has a nice gloss and is easy to apply. I used a paintbrush to apply it. I used it on a terracotta air dry clay. I am a bit disappointed though, as mine peeled off twice after drying the two layers it recommends. Even with me following the instructions. I ended up peeling off the whole thing (came off like dried PVA glue on plastic does), it thankfully didn't damage my clay piece. I ended up doing only one layer and it has stayed on so far. I have just used it to glaze a little dish I made to set a pillar candle on top of. If I was using for a vessel for pouring candles into or something, I would be sceptical to be honest. I didn't really think it was good value, probably a bit expensive considering the issues I experienced and the size of the bottle (very small).

Perfect
Simple , easy , just slap on and paint Note to be careful if you painted using water colours as it will smudge a little but does just work

I have a reasonable amount of experience with clear coats/lacquers. I began in pottery (clay that is dried in a kiln) years ago, segued into thick glassy type top coats like ‘Pour On’ and am always looking for cost effective smart ass alternatives (Podge, Aleene’s, clear nail polish). I loved Pour On but I blended badly a few times and it never cured 😩 and nail polish is ok except for the smell! Sculpd was a pleasant surprise! The photos are from a project where I want a ‘high flake’ under glass top coat look (I saw a car at a car show that looked like a huge sparkle sticker but under wet glass years ago). I found Sculpd to flow very well, it self levels, it has no smell I noticed and it combined with both glitter and mica with no complaint (don’t mix stuff with it on my say so—I am very impulsive + cavalier in my art making choices!). The attached photos are after one coat only. Sculpd is NOT thick like Pour On. It IS thicker than Podge. If you want it to self level I suggest using lots with your item on a rack so the extra can drain off then give it 1-2 days undisturbed for a through and through glassy cure. The progress from self leveling to drying is quick: drying began for me 5-10 minutes after drip leveling. Cost: if you’re doing smaller projects buying this size will probably be fine. If you regularly need high gloss varnish for medium or large sized projects I recommend seeking a wholesale seller of Sculpd.

You can see the streaks and it dries weirdly. You can peel it off like latex..
