Easy to assemble and works very well!
The device itself works extremely well, giving a very clear reflection of the white on black text from my iPad running Teleprompter app. I’ve even tried it outside, and provided I’m not in direct sunlight, it’s still good. It’s also very transparent for my cameras. I haven’t tried the supplied remote control, as I already use a Satechi Bluetooth remote regularly and I’m very familiar with this. As to value for money - I’m always torn with equipment like this, which is, in essence, very simple to manufacture and doesn’t contain much in the way of materials; however, I do appreciate that it isn’t exactly a mass market item, so per-unit returns need to be high. In real terms, I guess I also have to balance the item’s cost against how useful it is to me, and this device is already cutting down my error rate massively when I’m doing video tutorials and is therefore saving me time, so I guess it’s worth it. Although simple, it’s also well made and very solid once constructed, so I have no fears about putting a valuable camera on it. I’m now looking for a foam lined hard case of some sort, so I can transport it fully assembled, safely. This case works very well. You can leave the unit set up and ready to rock, without fear of breaking the glass: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ROC-Cases-Aluminium-Flight-L570xW380xH190mm/dp/B00UFW2R40 available from loads of outlets online.

Great budget teleprompter - easy to set up and use
Just set up my Teleprompter TP-iLight PRO with my DSLR camera and I am really pleased. Requires a little bit of set up putting it together but nothing too onerous. Feels solid and well constructed with clear instructions. Works well with any tablet or smartphone - there are plenty of teleprompter apps out there (free and paid-for). It compares favourably to similar, more expensive set ups. The reason I haven't given a full five stars is because there is no way of securing the tablet device to the front. It's a minor issue - as long as you don't mess around with the prompter too much it should stay put as it just lays flat (and the metal has a lip on it) - but it would be nice to make sure it doesn't slip off and fall to the ground by accident. Otherwise, exactly what I need - thank you!

Solid, easy to assemble, good quality
After renting different models of teleprompters I decided to purchase my own to avoid the time wasting of collecting and taking it back and of course the rental itself. I've been using this for over a month now in many occasions and is just brilliant. Very simple product but works well, take a couple of minutes to assemble and easily handle my Sony FS-5 + Metabones + Nikon 24-70 2.8 lens (about 4kg). All parts are made of aluminum, making it solid. It doesn't fit my iPad Pro 12.9" but it is perfect for the iPad Air 10.9" I purchased specifically for using with this. To avoid any accident I fixed the ipad cover in the teleprompter and just need to fit the ipad to use. I can then remove the teleprompter from the tripod and carry everything assembled between shots using the camera handle. To disassemble you have to unscrew 4 screws and reverse the top plate to fit the bag provided. As it has sharp corners, the bag shows that it will not last long and will be replaced in the next 12 months I guess. The remote control is very well built and needs two AAA batteries but it doesn't work with the Teleprompter app, what is a shame as I also film myself and you have to manually set the app every time instead. I have no idea why it is included as it proved to be useless for its purpose. The glass is very thin and fragile as expected, has no color shifting but produce a veil if used against a light source. As a professional camera man I strongly recommend this product.

Excellent addition to my video suite at a relative bargain price (if you have an iPAD)
The prompter hardware is brilliant. Simple but very effective. The mirror works extremely well, text is clear and readable on an iPAD from some distance. Be aware that you will need to be a few metres from the camera in order that the viewer can't detect your eye movement. For a head and shoulders shot that means a telephoto lens (I'm using a 45mm lens on a micro 4/3 camera and it's spot on but with a 25mm the eye movement was obvious and distracting.)I had difficulty getting the remote to work - and the remote is important because you'll want control over the speed and start stop with controls you can feel rather than having to look at them. Turns out I was using the app which is recommened for Andriod. I've downloaded iCUE, remapped the buttons and it works a treat. If I was being very picky I would say that the camera screw ought to be retained to save it getting lost. This is going to save me a lot of rehearsal time.

Competitively priced, sturdy, does the job well
If you haven't the time to make your own autocue and you want something that is competitively priced and looks the part, then I'd recommend this. It is a sturdy piece of kit, easy to assemble - and does the job great. I had an assignment recently where I required an autocue for a client who was delivering 10 scripts for internal videos to use for training purposes - anywhere between five and eight minutes in length per script. It worked a treat for the client and for me in post production. It is also at least £100 cheaper than the nearest alternative, yet is still made of high grade aluminium. It supported my Pro-HD JVC GY-HM650 perfectly, so will work with pro-ENG cameras that are quite long in dimension. You may find you have to zoom in a touch to remove traces of the autocue 'in action' but, in my case, it is probably because I had a wide angle lens on board.

Design fault in the universal screw slot
The product seems like good quality and fairly easy to set up with helpful videos provided. There was a design flaw in the one I received however; the T-slot (where the screw securing the camera is supposed to slide through) is too narrow. I was able to only insert and use it in the top two inches of the right hand side of the ‘T’, which is not enough range for what I need it for.The seller asked me to rewatch the instruction video, as if to suggest that I must have done it wrong. After sending them a video showing the fault I didn’t hear back from them. It’s been two days since they last replied, so I will be returning the unit today, assuming there is nothing they can or want to do about the faulty product.
