Faithfull FAICARPSET 5 Piece Carpenters Tool Set

Got this product Today.mine was pretty much in tact no problems like other customers, there were two very small nicks to the green lining inside the Box where the Tools have moved about in transit the Manufacturer could have put a couple of pieces of Bubble rap or polystyrene inside the wood box to stop this,and like other Customers mentioned the the hinges could have been put on the other end so the weight when stood up was on the bottom ( a bit top end heavy if standing up) Like other Customers I will swap the hinge and fittings round, I have given 5 Stars regardless of the little Niggles I have with box because the tools are so good.I went for this box set because I Keep borrowing my Fathers plain and the blade is usually damaged he keeps his piled in with his other Tools, so this set will be well protected in its wood box.The tools in this Kit Look pretty Smart in the wood Box, they Look very robust if looked after these should last me for the rest of my Life Long may I live.So if you are looking for a Carpenters Kit or starter Kit this is an Excellent set for DIYers or Professionals.

This is a beautiful set of tools. The finishing of the two planes is a little bit quite coarse and demands some works especially for grinding and polishing blades and flatting the sole. With its wood box, it can be a nice gift.

I was doubtful when I read the previous reviews for this item but thought it really couldn't be that bad. I was wrong. The wooden box was chipped and damaged, the catches came off upon opening it. The contents weren't fixed and probably damaged but I am not going to bother examining them. Some have said that it is all about the tools, if so, then go and buy the tools that you need elsewhere. If a company presents something in a 'gift' type box, it should not fall apart when opening it. I am appalled that an item is despatched in this condition and the company does not deserve the custom. What is the matter with Amazon? Do you consider this to be acceptable? DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. It is a disgrace and is going straight back. I will be purchasing elsewhere.

Tools seem okay, but as others have said, box arrived damaged. The dividers in the case are made from thin MDF and break off easily, hopefully they hold with a bit of wood glue. Also the tools came heavily coated in some form of grease, all individually wrapped in plastic bags - not very pleasant to unwrap. Perhaps Faithful have collaborated with Magnum.

Good tools but the box is a bag of w**k! It's too flimsy to support the heavy plain, so the lid of the box has been split. Also the green felt stuff that lines the box is All over the gaff! It's not even stuck properly. I find it ironic that carpenters tools come in such a badly made box. Unfortunately I didn't have time to ask for a new box as I'm giving it as a gift tomorrow but that's my issue.

Bought as a present for a joiner and he seemed very pleased with the quality and versatility of kit.

These tools are well worth the money,great value and good quality. The block plane is real easy to set, I am really impressed with all the tools. This item was shipped to Canada and arrived in perfect condition.
