Very nice display.
Very easy set up, easy to read. I prefer this vertical rather than the horizontal as it takes up less counter space.

It Works
This product works as it should. I had a minor issue with the first one I ordered, but the manufacturer was very responsive. Would recommend.

Doesn't work on A/C power but...
Easy to set up. I use it at my desk on batteries but also wanted to use it at night plugged in as well. The a/c plug doesn't work at all. After "chatting" with Acurite's support person, it turns out that the unit is probably faulty. I may keep the unit if the backup batteries reasonably hold their charge long enough to use it w/o the a/c. Except for this problem, it seems to be well designed but I can only give it a One Star rating because it failed at a major selling feature. Btw: my old unit was Oregon Scientific which died after 5 years and a new one just didn't work at all. Quality control appears not to be a strong point for China manufacturing (duh)Update- Bravely ordered a second unit which works fine, so I have it on A/C power in one room and the first one on battery power in another. Minor complaint - even with the dimming option, the plugged in unit is still way too bright at night in the B/R so I have to put it face down. The other unit running only on battery power seems to be fine after a month or so. Have updated my score from one to four stars.

Great indoor/outdoor thermometer
We had the previous version to this for several years but it finally died. So got the latest and love it. It is easier to read from a distance - colors help highlight inside vs outside temps. Other weather readings are very helpful also. Although there are cheaper ones, we do like this version. It sits tall and base is smaller than other weather stations, so doesn't use as much room on our counter.

No Complaints
Fantastic weather station. Sits nicely on my nightstand and isn’t too big or too small. I love that it gives me the moon phases date and time. At a glance I can see indoor/outdoor temp indoor/outdoor humidity as well as a graphic of what’s expected and barometric pressure. Compared to the weather apps on my phone it’s accurate. The display is bright and easy to read and set up is simple. The poor reviews about this unit’s display must be due to buyer error because it offers 3 brightness levels when plugged in. (super bright, medium bright and low bright) Mine is set on low bright and I can clearly see it from across the room plus it doesn’t bother me at night in a dark room. If the unit is powered by batteries the display has only one setting, very low bright, but that will conserve battery life. I really only put batteries in for battery backup. I enjoy this unit very much it’s sturdy a perfect size and the display is bright. I have no complaints.

Wrong temperature readings
I got an item that is not properly calibrated. When two sensors were put indoors side by side , they showed different temperatures and humidity even they were within a few inches from each other. Moreover, the temperature was fluctuating up and down even while the room was climate controlled by thermostat. I am returning this item to seller.

WILDLY Misleading--NOT Color Display
First, this product claims to have a "color display." What they mean is: we painted some background colors under the area this product displays in standard black & grey LCD characters. It's akin to a printer manufacturer claiming they were selling a color printer because it can print on colored paper. That's bologna.Second, this product has three, and only three brightness settings: High, 30%, and "auto"....except "auto" only switches between High & 30%. At 30% brightness, I estimate this display gives off lumens equivalent to a 40 watt bulb--super annoying if you want this in your bedroom--or anywhere you ever want it to actually be dark.Third, I found the display unreadable from anywhere other than directly in front of the unit. I read the reviews that said it was easily readable, and I can't imagine how those people arrived at that opinion. I even tried starting directly in front of the unit and sliding off to the side at oblique angles, and my eyes couldn't read the display at anything over 20% off center. Maybe those other people have better eyes. Finally, this unit does not update via the atomic clock in Boulder, CO. Now, it IS true that they don't actually advertise that--they say it has an "Intelli-time clock." I guess it's supposed to get radio updates from some OTHER source of time. For this price, I want NIST level accuracy, not "Bob's Garage Clock Radio Signal from Poughkeepsie." Call me picayune.I returned this unit and replaced it with another sold on Amazon. That unit cost 35% less and doesn't have a "color display," but I can read it from any angle and it updates nightly from the atomic clock in Boulder. When I ran the units side-by-side for three days, they reported the exact same indoor/outdoor temperatures & humidity, barometric pressure, and weather. So I can't say HOW accurate this unit is, but I CAN say it's no more accurate than a unit costing 35% less.Save your money.
