Easy to lose, so be careful with it
I replaced my ink with the 'bold' refill and I like how it writes better. that is just a personal thing. Other than that, here are a few impressions.1. when you put the cap on the back it is a regular size pen and very comfortable. If you leave the cap off it is short and not comfortable. Don't worry about the cap scratching the body, never had it leave even a mark.2. This is small when it is folded up - so it is really easy to lose. They sell a clip you can add to it which helps but personally I just keep it in my pants pocket with my wallet. So far have not lost it yet. The finish on the body looks really tough so I think that I could carry it in my other pocket with my keys and it would not get scratched up.3. makes a unique and cool gift. Works upside down so it is great for me for the checkout sheets at work that are mounted to the wall and I am writing with the pen facing up.

Excellent
This is a quality pen. The space pen is always a good product. It is compact and lightweight. The creakote finish is a great feature and even adds some texture. It writes well.

Nice pen I can keep the ink flowing with in a pretty color.
I love these Space pens. I can write on something damp and can write perpendicular or upside down if I want to. The ink will still flow. Very pretty burgundy color.

Certainly a classic … UPDATED
Update - after having this pen for several months, it’s now the only pen I use, all the time. The ability to write smoothly on all surfaces has come in handy, and just the overall economics have now proven to be preferable to those of the usual plastic pens out there. Highly recommended.Yes, it’s a nicely made pen, but the supplied refill writes terribly. Excessive rolling resistance, and of course, the constant clicking as you pick the pen up at the end of strokes since the refill tip doesn’t precisely fill the tip of the metal pen barrel. Far less expensive modern pens work far better in terms of smoothness and satisfaction with the writing experience. Two examples are the Uni jetstream RT and the Pentel energel RTX. No, they don’t have the classic metal barrel and timeless look, but what matters is they work far better as writing instruments. This is of course a little shortsighted, if you routinely have to write underwater or you spend most of your time in space, or writing on the ceiling……. I hate to dump on a classic pen, and perhaps the normal everyday writing experience could be drastically improved with a higher quality refill, but the price is already excessive as is.

It's a little rattly
The "refill" rattles around inside the pen in an annoying fashion. I was able to get it to stop by wrapping a single layer of invisible tape around the narrow part of the refill. For this price, this shouldn't be a problem that exists. At least the fix is easy and cheap.I'm also not sure how well the cerakote will hold up over time to posting the cap. Still likely to be more hard-wearing than bare metal.Other than that, I like the way the pen writes. I've always liked the Fisher "refills". For one thing, they never dry out, even when left in hot environments, and seldom have much problem with hard starts. The Bullet pen design is cool. It's very compact, but feels like a full sized pen when you post the cap, and the weight is nice; it feels like a solid object. That said, you basically always have to post the cap, as it's too short to write with comfortably for more than a couple of words without.

My favorite pen
PROS:o Love the deep red coloro Smooth retracting mechanismCONS:o noneWould I recommend this to a friend: YESI bought one for myself, and liked it so much that I bought one for a friend. I know, how much can you really do to a ball point pen to make it outstanding from the rest... while this one might not knock your socks off with some kind of uniqueness, it is just has a solid, reliable, understated class about it.
