Delchem Adjustable Arm Valve 9.5" Bottom Entry

I purchased this with the separate ball float to replace an old leaking one. It would have been a doddle to fit had we put the black arm thing on the right side up! Getting it off again is a nightmare so make sure you fit it the right way round first time. Other than that, it worked really well and was easy to fit. No problems with it so far.

I've used this or similar over the years and never noticed a difficulty In placing the split pins In the correct holes. You extend or shorten the float arm to the length you need and secure this with two of three pins. The third pin Is used to connect the arm to the main body which houses the diaphragm and injector. These pins are extremely difficult to remove from the pre-assembled position to that of what you've set. I found that a pair of long nosed pliers helped by clamping onto the pin and levering upwards worked but a feel bit of force was needed. Other than this, the rest of the float valve Is robust and well worth the money. A couple of notes for anyone considering a purchase is to measure the height of existing (stick a ruler or tape measure into the bottom of the cistern) as the cistern lid won't go back on If this Is too high. The other Is to be extremely careful to line up the pipework beneath the cistern when coupling to the plastic threaded end of the valve as this Is easily cross threaded. Once cross threaded, you may as well throw the valve away and start again.

Nice unit with allowed me to reuse my ballcock. Generally a good fit. The downside though was the plastic split pins. They were next to impossible to take out to allow fitting/adjustments. In the end I had to break them and replace.

Fixed broken inlet valve a treat, though I do wonder why there is no washer underneath before the plastic nut?No ball included as it states!!!!! So use Old on and adjust pivot point AND length to your needs ;)Any questions just holler
