Works extremely well on coating exhaust pipes
I had to patch up a hole of an exhaust after using the excellent product made by J B Weld of putty to seal it perfectly. So, I decided to a coat a section of the exhaust pipe and this product made by Hycote worked perfectly after following its recommendation that the surface of any potential dirt, grease or oil before applying this air can. It worked surprisingly well and coated the surface with a nice fine spray of paint allowing a more even spread of paint across the surface, and a few hours later once I noticed it was almost dry to the touch I then applied another coating of it. I left it overnight and it came out in not a jet black more of almost dark charcoal grey look to it which was perfectly fine seeing the section of exhaust pipe was underneath my motorcycle anyway which made it look better in my personal opinion.

Good quality paint, prep properly though.
Used this for several applications, including an exhaust manifold (which was brand new) and an exhaust rear box. Both were prepped meticulously and then a couple of coats applied. The finish is a dead flat black bordering on grey. It's not the easiest paint to apply without seeing lines in the finish, I would suggest several coats at 90° to each other in order to minimise the tiger stripe effect. The other picture is an exhaust silencer, I ran out of paint for a proper second coat on this one so I have ordered another can. The previous can did both the manifold and the back box.As for longevity, the paint on the exhaust manifold showed a little rust coming through after two years, which is not too bad, although the car doesn't get used much it does run for 3-4 hours when it is used for off roading. For best results the paint needs to be cured by operating the device or whatever it's painted onto for at least an hour, with a gradual build up in temperature. Don't be tempted to get the heatgun or blowtorch out!

Great gloss, heat proof
This is an excellent heat resistant lacquer. Just be aware if you cure it, make sure it's completely cured and be careful that any basecoat is going to survive the heat. I did try to cure it once and it made the paint underneath bubble up. After repainting, I plan to let it cure naturally this time!

Not deep black colour
No problem with application or even the need for baking it to cure paint but I was disappointed with the look of the colour, its more of dark gray even after 2 coats applied, there are cheaper heat paint cans on the market that can even give you glossy black.

Nice smooth finish
I've never used anything like this before and wanted to give an old single metal bed frame a spruce up. There was a tiny bit of peeling rust on the headboard part which covered very well nobody would ever notice. The Matt black gave a lovely smooth finish was easy to apply and instructions were simple to follow. However I only managed to get two coats of the two ends of the bed with one can. Maybe I have over sprayed and therefore used all the product or maybe I just underestimated how much product I'd need. Not really a big problem as I'm happy with the overall outcome of the bed will just order another can to finish it off.
