Ornamin Mug with Internal Cone with spouted lid, red

I can recommend this mug. Plus points : very lightweight, comfortable to hold, keeps drinks hot with the lid on, well made, nice colour ( yellow ), can drink tea from mug in bed without drink spilling, easy to drink from using the spout, lid is a firm attachment so won’t easily come off ( the carer will have to prize the lid off to fill and clean the mug ), appealing design that does not stand out as being for the elderly ( looks more like a ‘thermos mug’ than an aid for the elderly ) so won’t offend those who are still averse to switching to these sorts of devices. Other comments: The mug does not hold the equivalent of a normal ‘mug’ sized coffee or tea cup. Roughly 1/2 a normal mug. Equivalent to a tea cup really. But for the elderly that is probably an advantage, i.e. they don’t want too large a mug.

This is a good cup, although expensive. Unfortunately, for us, it only holds a cup full, not a mug full of liquid. Very good for those with mobility issues. It is sturdy. A more able bodied person is needed to put the lid on and off.

This cup offers the user the dignity to keep using a cup without supervision, the spout offers direct consumption of the contents, and is a lower spill risk than a conventional cup, I had an issue with delivery which the seller corrected very quickly which was much appreciated, all in all a good purchase and useful for people with lowered physical abilities, hope this helps.

This cup is so worth the money. It is easy for the person to hold and does not leak or drip liquid as they drink.

I bought this for a person I care for who is ill. It doesn't hold much, and whilst its well made it could have been better designed, for example a screw top. The top is very hard especially with hot liquid to remove and have to use a spoon etc to prise it off! Not good if you yourself don't have much strength etc and you would break your finger nails if trying to do it that way. For the price and design I would not recommend this product am surprised as its german made.

Does the job for those who to struggle to use normal items. Value for money, doesn't leak when being sipped, the sooky nib doesn't need to be sacked to death in order to get a decent mouthful . Only issue is it could do with being every so slightly bigger as the total ml is only 100 whereas a standard cup is 175ml but other than that no complaints from the user. It is light which is helpful. Because the interior is shaped it holds less liquid than it would appear. My husband was saying that he had had enough to drink by the number of drinks he had had but in actual fact the quantity was a lot less. So making sure the person actually drinks enough is something to consider.

I had great hopes for this item as my bedridden mother struggles to have a drink in bed. The lid fits really well and is very safe. When I bought the cup I thought that it was important to retain heat for hot drinks. However, I now think this is less important, as I am disappointed about how little the cup holds. It is difficult to get Mum to drink enough, and this cup holds about half as much as a normal one. One really good thing though is the size of the handle which makes it really easy for her to use.
