Good product
I decided to use these strings when the old ones on my Ibanez SR 700 wore out.Once they were on I started playing and they sounded awful. Rattling and buzzing in all the wrong places.Took me a while to realise that these strings have a quite different tension profile to any other strings I have used. So for the very first time I adjusted the truss rod tension. Just loosened it an eighth turn and raised each bridge saddle a half turn. The guitar now plays like a dream. I love the tone these strings give. I would confidently say that I consider them to be the best round wound strings I have used so far - and I include other ddarrio strings in that.

Long lasting, easy on the fingers. I’ve found my strings...
Seriously, I’ve been through standard Rotosound, Elites, Ernie Ball, LaBella etc - all a waste of time. Balanced tension is where it’s at. Everyone is different but for me it works...it’s just simply easier to play the bass. I use this gauge on a P Bass & Stingray using the lighter (green) balanced tension set on a Rick and I’m not going to change until they stop making them.

Good playable strings
Great play, nice and bright, easy tension but with a bit of resistance

Amazing feeling string set
If you haven't tried a balanced tension set I really recommend you do. No longer do you have an A and D much stiffer than your G and a mushy E, all the strings are the same tension and need a similar amount of force to play, either with a pick, fingerstile or slapping, so getting consitent levels is much easier and overall the whole set feels nice rather than choosing a set for a few stings feeling good or a compromise.

Good strings, but you might need to get used to different feel?
Bought for Bass player in my band. Generally happy, but found the low E a bit hard on her fingers. Blisters after a heavy gig! Now used to gauge.

and expected that the bass strings for my drop-C bass would be good. They are
Well worth it for anyone with a lot bass tuning. Ive used D'Addario for my acoustic six string for years, and expected that the bass strings for my drop-C bass would be good. They are. Nice feel. Tensions good. Sound is good. Worth it for a heavier tuning IMO

Wow!
I needed to fit some nice bright strings to a new bass I was given but as I normally use flatwounds the thought of heavy nickel strings made my wrists hurt just thinking about it.Read all the info about these strings and thought ok, will give them a try but didn't hold out much hope of them being as evenly balanced and easy to play. Also may bass has a thick "C" neck and is 42mm at the nut.Wow! Will say it again Wow! They really are beautifully balanced across the fretboard. So easy to play & a joy to play!I never review anything normally but D'Addario have made a great set of strings. Also my wrists are happy as well (they tend to suffer from overuse when the wife has a headache)
