Ingenious toaster & STEAMED egg cooker
Love having a dippy egg and toast for brekkie but was frequently deterred by the palava involved in boiling a solo egg on the hob. Was in the market for a new toaster and intrigued but sceptical ...would it be another hardly used kitchen gadget? And there were better looking toasters available. Then the price dropped to £39 so I took the plunge and so glad I did: makes perfect toast and soft boiled eggs in 4 mins, the latter by steaming rather than boiling (so it's even healthier than the hob method for nutrient retention). Up to 4 eggs can be steamed together, the mini pan can poach one egg (remember to spritz the mini frying pan with oil) and I've used it for steamed mushrooms too. The toaster also deserves a shout-out: 4 clear temp settings instead of the usual 7 setting ambiguous dial: level 4 gives the best brown crunchy toast of any toaster I've owned, although it is slightly slower. Top tips: 1) Remove soft eggs as soon as the cycle ends or they will continue sitting in their sauna and quickly go from soft to set. You need to be vigilant as there is a no sound to indicate the eggs are complete (the red light just goes out) and the toaster has normally poppped about 30s before. Conversely if you need to leave the room while it's cooking and can't be sure of an on-time return, reduce the water so that they don't over-cook 2) If toasting only one slice, use the back slot 3) The quickest way to eject burning toast is by switching off the toaster ;) 4) The best way to clean the water reservoir is with a spritz of white vinegar which brings it back to shiny in one wipe once cooled. 5) READ the instruction booklet before use: this is not a bog standard toaster and it's worth doing that to avoid melted parts or badly cooked eggs. Sharing a pic of my first go at toast and soldiers to show how easy it is.

Best invention ever, and great for kids!
We bought this toaster over two years ago and it’s still going strong. It has been easy for my kids to make eggs instead of using the hob and safer too- I use it daily too. Honestly one of the best inventions. Highly recommend!!

Good but could be better
I used to have the same kind of toaster from an American brand when I lived in the US. I really got used to my breakfast sandwich, so I thought I'd get one here as well. It's a good toaster, and easy to make your eggs/beans with it as well. I also like that it is very easy to clean; you only need to wash the egg/bean dish. There are 2 differences between this one and the US version (in appearance, they look exactly the same), and I think in both, the US version is superior. 1. The US version does not release the bread until the egg is ready. The heating element turns off, so it doesn't get burned, but it still has enough heat to keep the bread warm until the egg is ready. I really liked this feature; the Tefal version doesn't have it. 2. What is more important for me: the "egg dish" in the US version is much smaller in diameter. Which means that it would be hard to heat beans in it (too small), but I don't do that most of the time anyway. On the plus side, however, the egg ends up being the size of a breakfast muffin, which then makes for a perfect breakfast sandwich. In the Tefal version, the dish is larger, and despite the little notch that would suggest that the egg would just stay in the middle, it doesn't. So you get a thinner, large-diameter egg, which is too big. I'm still looking into how I could get the tiny dish.

TefalToast n Beans Toaster 2 slot
I was fairly surprised by this toaster, as it does actually cook really good poached eggs, it looks well made and I think it is very fairly priced

Toast slot too small
Good little toaster and doing several things together is great however the main function for me is the toaster and some bread sticks our at the top or is too wide. Fairy standard bread. Toastie bread is the only one that just fits in. No major deal to flip it but a bit disappointed. Half a tin of beans cooks fine. Difficult to stir in the tiny pan without going over the edge. Needs oil when cooking an egg in the pan or it welds on. Not tried the egg boiler yet.

Very good toaster, and breakfast time saver, with little let downs
I had been looking at something like this for some time and decided to finally buy one. This is a very good toaster, not perfect, hence the 4 stars and not 5. I use this every morning for poached egg on toast and cannot really fault it, poaches eggs very well and makes great toast. My very minor gripes are a) the bread slot, it does not fit Warburton's side on and a little has to be cut off, or put in top ways, leaving a little not toasted. So i have had to revert to a smaller toastie loaf, not a major issue, but a shame nonetheless and b) Using the level on the cup marked hard boiled eggs does not produce proper hard boiled eggs. It is a case of trial and error to get them the way i like them when i boil in water, much like eggs in Scotch eggs. Especially when putting on a sandwich. Soft eggs for "soldiers" are great though. Also, the beans heater is a good function. Overall, a very worthwhile purchase. Would have been better with wider slots and a more accurate marker for hard boiled eggs. And also, a 4 slot version would be good, if not available already.

I used to have a Toast n Egg years ago and it was brilliant - perfect eggs every time. This version however delivers undercooked eggs every time. Even when using enough water for a single, hard boiled egg it will yield an undercooked egg with partially raw whites. I’ve tried smaller eggs, room temp eggs, piercing vs not piercing, and they are results are always undercooked eggs. The poaching option isn’t great either because even after greasing the pan, the egg sticks to it. Waste of money.

I bought one it lasted 10 years it was perfect. Bought a new one last week and it's burning the toast on lowest setting. Eggs not as accurate as last one either. They are either not cooked or hard
