Lifeless and tedious,as if the sun never shone in that part of the world. The pace is monotonous, dull, and without any sparkle. it rea\ds as if it is any early attempt and is best consigned to the scrape heap. The author can do better, this is just an embarrassment and should be left in file never to be esposed to the light of day

Should it be Gay Romance in Majorca or Gay Romance on Majorca? This little grammatical conundrum runs throughout this masterful tale of romance in a romantic setting. Whether it's "on" or "in" Daniel (23) and Daniel (22) get it on almost from the first moment when they are seated wrongly on their Palma-bound flight from overcast-grey London. French boy "Don Yell" and English boy "Dan-y'l" are matched more than in first names, both are escaping not only the gloom of a British summer for the vibrant Mediterranean island but also broken relationships. Of course, it takes a while for each to discover the other is gay and well up for a sexual relationship... but not too long, among the brush of a deserted pathway, high above the sea. The sex is fine, but is it love flowering? A trio of randy Scots boys might have something to say about that, especially disruptively beautiful teenager Dunk.A signature style of any McDonald book is the marvellous realisation of the places and the landscape in which the narratives unfold in his lucid prose. It's evident the author knows them, quite often intimately; and it is as evident that he loves flying, because hardly a story gets away without the smaller details of taking off, landing, the awfulness of airport buildings. It all adds to the enjoyment and ensures the realistically formed characters are painted against the backgrounds as though - even as strangers - they belong there.

I read this book on round the pool on holiday in Turkey. It was pretty much perfect holiday reading, alternating with something heavier ( a historical biography) on my Kindle. As with other books by the same author, and as other reviewers have said, it conjures up a vivid sense of place. The plot skips along, the characters are charming and you want them to have a happy ending.

Another very good romantic novel which was so good I couldn't put it down until I got too tired to read I just wanted to finish this book.Yes I'd tell everyone who enjoys romantic novels how good these stories are and to enjoy them as much as I have.
