Work great, allow me to have ear phones with music ...
Bought these to use while practicing on an acoustic drum kit. Work great, allow me to have ear phones with music on and still protect my hearing. The head strap is cushioned well and the protector section fits well. The sound level reduction is great and its enjoyable to practice for a few hours without having ringing ears. Price is very reasonable.

Excellent ear defenders
Excellent noise reduction, very pleased with these ear defenders, although it seems I got the large size but possibly more suited to a medium size but no problem as they are comfortable and do a good job.

Slightly over-rated for low frequency noise but all round very good
IMO they significantly reduce distant sounds and quiet (potentially distracting/annoying) background noise levels (eg a distant TV, traffic/conversation noises under 30db) quite well and therefore they are good for aiding concentration (eg in a library) and they give a sense of peacefulness. They are definitely worth the money and much more effective and comfortable than disposable earplugs (which I'm sure are not good for your ears). But I doubt people buy them with this type of noise in mind and after purchase I realised they are best suited for high frequency noise. They seem to be less and less effective with louder low frequency (eg impact) noises. Some frequencies are only blocked at a minimum - I can hear my (computer) mouse and the vacuum cleaner in the next room with the door closed, for example. Door slamming (60-100db) is still pretty much as much of an issue for me as it was, I'd say with these on, it is not much more than muffled. These sounds may well be impossible to dull much further, I don't know. The brochure said Medium size was what most people should wear but I was sent a Large without any choice on the matter - I can only hope that didn't make them less effective. They are nevertheless very flexible, durable, light (237g) and comfortable, you can even wear them with earrings folded up in the earcup or other headphones (for listening to music more clearly) and there is even padding under the headband which prevents pressure headaches - I have had them on for hours with no problems like that. All the materials seem of very good quality. If you sleep propped up or on your back, or with very soft cushions, I suspect you could in theory sleep with them on. The earcup seems to be basically a HIP plastic shell, with PVC leather ear muffs, with a loose bit of acoustic foam on the inner side. So, you could in theory experiment by adding other materials which is what I am doing at the moment (eg wool). The addition of a large size cotton cosmetic pad would probably keep it more hygienic in the long term. The design has a missed opportunity in that it all folds neatly into the headband but when you go to use the headband as a handle it all falls out into a regular headphone shape. Still, the design is great for storage, and for me, they were definitely the most aesthetic of the designs, which is a positive thing.I'm not sure that these are significantly better than any others as I have only these ones. I wouldn't like to rely on them if I was a road digger or at a firing range, like I said, some frequencies come through easy enough.

Uncomfortable
Minimised some sounds but uncomfortable to wear for long periods as too tight and not adjustable.

Cancels nearly all sound
I've used builders headphones in the past. These, in comparison, are more comfortable (although, sometimes, they do feel a bit tight) and eliminate the same amount of noise. I've found no noise cancelling headphones will ever get rid of the bassline in very loud music because it's low-pitched and these items deal with high-pitched noise. On that basis, I'm happy with them. I do add make-up cotton pads inside the headphones to dull the noise even more.

Loud Flatmates/nabours!? This is the only answer
happy to say that after some trail & error, finally found ear defenders that block out insane amount of noise... I have the noisest flat mate ever upstairs does everything besides the worsed which is 5 second looped hip hop crap like the Manchester flat mates... the past week he's had family and friends staying the night, the weekends they would talk loud, banging floor until 3am and wake up 5.30am to loud talking and even a screaming baby yesterday, the last night was the first night I adapted to them without discomfort, only 31£, every other product is usless

Poor foam padding
Happy with noise reduction, BUT FOAM PADDING GETS HARD after a few months and very uncomfortable to wear.Forget trying to sleep with them !Amazon guarantee disappears after 90 days ! And they know it.
