Practice Book Year 7: For the English National Curriculum (The Shanghai Maths Project)

By far the best practice book for the mathematically above average kids
There are lots of questions, well organised according to topics. The questions gradually go deeper, therefore stretch the kids. Pages are well planned so that there’s sufficient space for the workout. Plenty of (but not repetitive) questions to pick out all the weak spots - exactly what the kids need to build a solid foundation. Some multiple choice and fill-the-blanks questions are a bit boring and too definition focused, which are quite off putting for the kids, but overall they’ve really tried to keep the questions interesting (by keeping them challenging and therefore satisfying rather than by being “child friendly”) to engage the kids.My boys are top of the top set, and I am certain they wouldn’t be where they are without this book. Be warned though: be prepared to invest time and “nagging energy”, and some parts are hard so you need to hold their hands to get through, but to me, it has been worth it.

Amazing math practice
English version is bit easier than the Chinese ones, but still very good standard practice for my children. I compared this book with other Collins or letts math practice , Shanghai math has more variety of the questions than others, also it is more difficult than all the English math practice.

nicely presented and lots of repetition
nicely presented and lots of repetition. I loved the style of this workbook.but too hard:: first chapter is about irrational number. nothing about percentage / algebra /etc
